2007 mercury mountaineer wrench light lit. what is that mean?

Wrench Warning Indicator (Base Instrument Cluster)
The instrument cluster receives the powertrain status from the PCM over the HS-CAN. When a powertrain system concern is detected, the PCM sends the instrument cluster a command signal to illuminate the wrench warning indicator. If the 4WD control module detects a failure with the 4WD drive system, the 4WD control module sends a message to the instrument cluster over the CAN to illuminate the wrench warning indicator. On 4.6L engines, if the transmission control module (TCM) detects a failure with the transmission, the TCM sends a message to the instrument cluster over the CAN to illuminate the wrench warning indicator.

It means a trip to the dealer or some other qualified repair shop .

My 2004 Pontiac grand am se1 acts like door is open and interior light stays on also does t lock on its own when in gear and lights don't blink and horn not honk when locking with key bob

Door ajar switch problem more then likely or wiring issue . The BCM - body control module won't turn off interior light , let door lock because it think's the door is open . The door ajar switch is a input to the BCM .

The first thing would be to have it checked for DTC'S - diagnostic trouble codes . Also check with an enhanced scan tool to see if the BCM shows ajar switch data (open or closed ? Do you know about body electronics ?

2006 wrench light is on

Powertrain Malfunction (Wrench) Warning Indicator (base instrument cluster)
The instrument cluster receives the powertrain status from the PCM over the high speed CAN. When a powertrain system concern is detected, the PCM sends the instrument cluster a command signal to illuminate the powertrain malfunction (wrench) warning indicator. If the 4WD control module detects a failure with the 4WD drive system, the 4WD control module sends a message to the instrument cluster over the CAN to illuminate the powertrain malfunction (wrench) warning indicator. 2003 Ford ka what colour is the wire for the alternator warning light on dash cluster

There isn't one ! This vehicle relies on serial data communication . The PCM sends an message on the data bus to the microprocessor inside the instrument cluster . The PCM controls the operation of the charging system warning indicator in the instrument cluster. The PCM is therefore responsible for turning the warning indicator off after the engine is started and illuminating it under fault conditions (when the generator is not generating the correct amount of current with the engine running). The warning indicator will also be illuminated by the PCM at key ON engine OFF, and stall conditions.
Charging System Warning Indicator
The instrument cluster receives the charging system status from the PCM over the SCP or CAN communication network. The PCM controls the charging system and the charging system warning indicator. The PCM is therefore responsible for turning the lamp off once the system is running and illuminating it under fault conditions (including stall conditions).
How to Diagnose Controller Area Network CAN Your best bet would be to take your vehicle to a qualified repair shop .

After disconnect and reconnect the battery of my opel antara, the indication of odometer displays only 888... for all indications. How can i reset it?

This solution will be of great help to you,even in the case of future or other dashboard problems;
Instrument cluster consists of electronic analog gauges, various warning lights, and optional tachometer. Vehicles equipped with tachometer have an electronic vacuum fluorescent transmission range indicator (PRND3L),odometer and trip odometer display. Vehicles without tachometer are equipped with a cable-operated transmission range indicator.
Instrument cluster is equipped with the following warning lights:
Battery voltage.
Cruise (speed control).
Door ajar.
Fasten seat belt.
Lift gate ajar.
Low fuel level.
Low windshield and washer level.
Traction Control.
The Body Control Module (BCM), which receives input from various sensors, sends display information to instrument cluster and operates gauges. Instrument cluster incorporates a self-test diagnostic feature to identify electronic problems. BCM, Powertrain Control Module (PCM), and Transmission Control Module (TCM) are continuously monitored by the diagnostic system.

SELF-DIAGNOSTICS
With ignition off, press and hold TRIP and RESET buttons while turning ignition switch to ON position. Continue to hold TRIP and RESET buttons until odometer window displays CODE (approximately 5 seconds). If problem exists, system will display diagnostic trouble codes. See DIAGNOSTIC CODE CHART table. If no problem exists, Code 999 (end test) will be displayed.
DIAGNOSTIC CODE CHART
CodeDescription
110.......Cluster Memory Fault
111.......Cluster Calibration Fault
905.......No CCD Bus Message From TCM
921.......Odometer Fault From BCM
940.......No CCD Bus Message From PCM

After diagnostic code display ends, instrument cluster will go into each of the following tests in order:
Dim test.
Calibration test.
Odometer segment test.
Electronic Transmission Range indicator segment test.
Dim Test
CHEC-0 will be displayed in odometer window. Instrument cluster will dim Vacuum Florescent (VF) display. If VF displays do not dim, a problem in instrument cluster exists. See BODY CONTROL COMPUTER TESTS in BODY CONTROL COMPUTER article.
Calibration Test
CHEC-1 will be displayed in odometer window. Each of instrument cluster gauges will move sequentially through each calibration point. See GAUGE CALIBRATIONS table. If gauge needle is not calibrated properly, a problem in instrument cluster exists.

Odometer Segment Test
CHEC-2 will be displayed in odometer window. Each segment of odometer will light sequentially. If any segment does not light, replace instrument cluster.
Electronic Transmission Range Indicator Segment Test
CHEC-3 will be displayed in odometer window. Each segment of electronic transmission range indicator will light sequentially. If any segment does not light, replace instrument cluster.

I have a 2001 Dodge Ram 3500 4X4, w/5 spd tranny. I am having trouble with my HVAC controls (they quit working and only hot air comes out), and also the instrument cluster. Periodically I lose the tach...

tach is most likely a cam sensor, hvac could be a bad vacuum problem (bad hose ) the electrical (dash stuff) I would start looking for a loose or bad ground wire or dirty battery terminals

Don't know how to change the lights on my instrument panel ... 2005 Jeep Grand Cherokee

Although I've not changed these on this vehicle, I do know that most newer vehicles have changeable IP cluster lights that basically twist turn for replacement but you will need to actually remove the instrument panel (IP) cluster to access them;
1. Grab a seat behind the wheel and lower your stearing wheel as low as it goes to get some room
2. There is a dome shaped piece of trim surround your IP cluster, wiggle gently upward by grasping the top portion (two hands with your thumbs inside the lip of the trim and your fingers on top) until it begins to move, now look down to the steering column and you'll see the botom portion of the trim lifting, move one of your hands to it and using equal force top and botom, lift the trim gently up and toward your forehead to reveal the IP Cluster in its bare form
3. Locate and remove the two screws at the top of the cluster
4. That's as far as I can go at this point because all my tools are elsewhere just now, you should be able to go from there though, it's not overly complicated when you consider the fact that the factory building of these things has to be straight forward enough to move 1500 of these things down-line in an 8 hour shift!!

Hope it works out for you
