All of the shift solenoids are located inside the transmission. If the map you ask about is the emission sticker, it only has vacuum diagrams.

Location of shift solenoid

If your talking about the shift solenoids in the transmission, they are located on the valve body and will require removal of the transmission cover. If your talking about the BTSI (brake transmission shift interlock solenoid this is located on the shifter module.

Where is the transmission solenoid b on a 2004 malibu

It is a job you can do yourself if you have the tools and are
mechanically inclined enough. The biggest obstacle is that you have
to remove the side cover of the transmission. This usually involves
having to support the engine and trans with a holding fixture and
lowering of the subframe. Then the transmission can be lowered
enough to get the side cover off. The shift solenoids are located on
the valve body which is just inside the side cover. I would recommend
replacing both shift solenoids as they are not that expensive and you
don't want to have to do the job twice. Looking at the side of the
transmission, the shift solenoids are located in the top two positions
on the valve body. They are square in shape, so don't confuse them
with the many other different solenoids in the valve body. Good luck!

yes that solenoid locks it you can move the solenoid manually to shift out of park long screwdriver etc. removing the solenoid will work but you may have to zip tie the lever that hooked to it so it doesn't lock again

The reason you can`t find it is because it is in the transmission. It is in the valve body. This is not a simple repair if you are not familiar with work.If you do not do it right it can be very costly.Hope this helps.Good luck.
