Question about 2002 Pontiac Sunfire

1 Answer

I have a 2002 Pontiac Sunfire. I have no idea whats wrong with it. Several months ago it started acting up; if I accelerate too much, the engine shuts off, car dies.also, I notice it starts to five out more often when im turning my wheel. It just chugs and chugs, then dies. I've had the catalytic converter replaced. Theres only 71,000 kilometers on it.

Have you checked your fuel pump and relays for fuel system? AND , have you had the obd codes run yet? That sounds like the places to start_fuel system/delivery. Oxygen sensorswould be my next shot. maybe one wasnt replaced or came loose during new cat install. have them double chk that for you.

2001 Pontiac Sunfire 5 days ago car started jerking ( it felt like I was driving a standard shift car) it does this alot when I accelerate or turn corners. it also makes a very loud noise when in park

Sounds like the torque converter lockup is having issues im not certain on that model but the older ones had a plug down in the front square with four wires i believe you can unplug and it will work fine

I have a pontiac sunfire. It has a rattling sound when I accelerate. Just started doing this about 2 days ago. Scared something bad is fixing to happen. Any idea what it could be? thanks.

When the car is cooled off bang on the exhaust. It's possible you have a heat shield that is loose. Let me know if you have any questions and I'll do my best to answer them. Thank you for using!

When i accelerate i hear a vibrating noise from the front passenger side of the car. any ideas on what it may be? Also i've noticed that after ive been parked for a few ours with my ebrake on my bakes...

The vibration could be several things from a tire out of balance to a problem with the front drive axle on that side, CV joint bad or a wheel bearing bad. If the brakes only stick after you use the e-brake it could be a problem with the cable not releasing all the way.
