SOURCE: Cruise control fuse location for 2000 ford

Hi Will:
Keep in mind that Cruise Control dont work if your speedometor have some problem. The fuse diagram could be find in the Windstar Owners Manual, I suggest to check in Passenger Compartment Fuse Box... position 10, 10AMP, for Speed Control Module, and position 14, 10AMP for Transmission Overdrive Cancel Switch.

Sometimes, this was found to caused by an all too common defect in the Windstar. The brake master cylinder leaks out of the area where the brake switch screws into it from the bottom. The switch has control wiring going to it which feeds various other systems. Ford makes a "Brake Repair" package to solve all of this. It only costs $ 20.00. It comes with a new switch and a wiring pigtail adapter. Simply remove the air filter to get at the master cylinder and remove the old brake switch.

Hope this helps; also keep in mind that your feedback is important and I`ll appreciate your time and consideration if you leave some testimonial comment about this answer.

Thank you for using FixYa, have a nice day.

2000 ford windstar has a bad stumble when idling like it's missing accelerates fine when reaches cursing speed acks like it's missing also my cruise control stoped working

If your Windstar has the 3.8 liter engine, you are due for head gasket replacement. Just had mine done. The cruise control failure could be due to an open fuse or speed sensor failure.

How to install a cruise control

I have had the same scenario. In addition, the speedometer did not work, the overdrive was intermittent, the brake light was illuminated, and the cruise control did not function. This was found to caused by an all too common defect in the Windstar. I would clean the associated wiring with alcohol (on a cool engine) and allow it to dry and then re-tape and/or heat shrink tubing over the wiring for future protection. Install the new switch and adapter pigtail along with another 10a fuse in the driver's side fuse panel and you are all set....... much less than Ford would charge!

this was for my 2000 windstar it might just be your fuse i would start there

My cruse control stopped working. Could it be something simple like a blown fuse?

Possibly. Have you had it in to the dealer for service lately? There was a cruise control recall on that model. Dealers were told to disconnect the cruise until replacement parts were available. You could also try lifting the brake pedal with your toe while trying to engage the cruise system, If the brake pedal switch is out of adjustment it will not let the cruise activate. Always check fuses first though.

Windstar cruise control not work can tell me what fuse can i check for this, recently repair the transmision may be the problema

Check to make sure the switch under the master cylinder is plugged in. The cruise will not work if it is unplugged.

99 ford f350 powerstroke cruise control

There actually is a Fuse and a Relay for this. There should be a Fuse in the Cab Fuse Box and a Relay in the Fuse Relay Box under the Hood. These are where I would start.
