It`s a short circuit in wiring of your oddo-heat-meter follow the wires of them locate the damaged isolate wires will then replace your fuse

At least you know the circuit with the problem

Now you go to factory wiring diagrams, to see what that
fuse controls & do some testing

Have to have wiring diagrams,be able to read them & know
basic electricity & be able to test your vehicle,then you have
to be able to continue on with professional tools, once the fuse
issue is resolved, if the fuse keeps blowing every few days

You could have wiring issues,more likely inside the trans in the oily
environment ,you could have solenoid or module failure or mechanical trans issues

I would say you can't resolve at home,need professional help

sound's like a earthing problem , try a continuity test from blower LIVE to chassis , if get continuity then def got a wiring problem , very difficult to diagnose without seeing vehicle , get a auto electrician

you may have a broken wire in between the doors. there is a rubber boot the harness runs through u will have to take it off to inspect. hope this helps.

Hi I have a 1998 audi a4 and the blower motor keeps blowing the fuse number 25 once the key is turned on. I know the motor works as I put a hot wire on it, how can i find the short? or fix it with a new...


Hi, first off, check to see if there is anything else on the same circuit, e.g is everything else working with the fuse blown. The cigarette lighter is a favorite. If everything else is ok, use a a multimeter set to amps from the positive battery terminal to the heater motor input terminal (with a suitable fuse in line) to test the amps draw of the motor. You can then compare this with the fuse rating recommended and if it's greater than 2/3 of the fuse rating, then replace the motor. e.g 10 amp fuse 7 amps max loading, 15 amp fuse 10 amp loading.

Air conditioner, fuel gauge, and temp gauge all stopped working at the same time


Three possibilities;
All related to blown fuses,

1- Fuse blown in the engine compartment LH.
2- Fuse blown in the cabin forward LH below the dashboard (below your legs left hand).
3- Fuse blown in the harness (wire bundles) below the dashboard very easy to reach with your hands “just look underneath steering wheel ".

Gas, spedometer, odometer guage not working


Sounds like you have a universal failure of your instrument panel circuits. The Speedo and odometers run off a cable that goes down into your tranny, not electrical.

Pull each fuse out one at a time, test each for continuity, clean the blades with an eraser and reseat, then go to the next one. Tighten all the ground cables you can find, starting from inside, then the firewall, engine block, battery, etc. This should fix it unless you have an open in the instrument circuit. A short will blow the fuse involved so that will be obvious. Just replace the blown fuse with the SAME VALUE- DO NOT USE A HIGHER AMP FUSE! If you have a blown fuse, hopefully you'll be lucky and it won't blow again.

I say check each fuse because sometimes instrument circuits are shared with others and not obvious which fuse is the one. And if one fuse is not making good contact, then others are likely to be on their way. If it is a short it will work momentarily until the fuse blows- thats why they're in there- to protect the circuit.

If you have a short you will have to track it. Take the blown fuse out and run your tests on your wires- most. Sometimes those little instrument lights get a bad connection- glazed contacts & sometimes they act as sub-fuses as well, so it can get complicated. This is my generic solution for most vehicles.

Hello There

15 Amp sounds too small. It should be around 25 -30 Amp. You need to double check the size of fuse needed.
