My 99 Oldsmobile Alero started sputtering with and heater hose near firewall was leaking coolant Pulled over then half hour later drove back to house with no problems then car is parked and sputters when...

with the heater hose leaking and the engine missing I suspect an overheated engine from loss of coolant or pressure . It may be a blocked filter but I would expect a constant loss of power at rpm's.

Radiator toyota camry 1998 v6

You may have

- a coolant leak somewhere, comes out when the engine heats up and pressurises the radiator. Camrys do develop a crack in the plastic radiator top tank, which can be hard to see if on a seam. Another place which leaks is under the intake manifold, which is not visible. There is a test, called a "leak-down" test

- thermostat stuck closed, preventing coolant circulation

- a leak through a head gasket from a combustion chamber to the coolant jacket. This will quickly cause overheating, and sometimes causes white bubbles in the radiator neck, like dry ice. There is a test kit available for gases in the coolant.

There is a light mist of water spraying up around the serpentine belt and the power steering. Car was overheating with not heater working. Now not overheating (after radator leak stop) but spraying water...

still leaking.. it sound like a hose has a hole in it. i dont think stop leak will fix it. look for where it is coming from and replace it. if it is spraying near the serpentine belt it is probaly the water pump. or a hose connecting to it.

My car is overheating, but nothig is leaking. I think it my thermometer, but could it be my upper radiator hose?

If the level of the coolant is ok you don´t have a leak, maybe is the thermostat, and it´s located at the end of the radiator hose ( a kind of a "T" hose)

How to flush a radiator in a 1998 chev lumina

remove the coolant at the bottom drain valve, then remove the bottom radioator hose also the top radiator hose, make sure its park at the steet or curb. put a garden hose on the top radiator hose holding up with a rag around the hose and radiator hose so it wont leak the pressure. and just let the bottom empty all that **** out. i done this to so many cars to clean up all the built up between the guides. hope this helps you k!!!

2.3l ranger keeps overheating, been through two radiators already.

Hello Ranger Joe, eight months and two radiators is very uncommon. Question, Have you visually confirmed the leak in the radiators or is the leak near the hose connections? Replacing the radiator, cap, water pump, & the thermostat leaves only two others, the hoses and the engine block/heads. Far fitched will be something or somebody poking holes in the radiator.
