Question about 2003 Hyundai Tiburon

I have a Hyundai Tiburon (2005). I replaced the rear pads, turned the piston back in, then bled the system, but the right rear keeps pumpin out air. Help...... The caliper boot looks fine, but nothing but air and spurting fluid.

We put a c-clamp pm the caliber piston but could not get it to move--replacing brake pads on a 2008 tiburon

some of the newer cars have a caliper piston that screw back in not press back in. look at the caliper and see if it has a place to put a screw driver in and turn counter clock wise. i learned this on a 2007 honda accord. hope it helps.

I have a 2003 tiburon and I changed the rear rotors and pads but can't seem to get the caliper back on cause the lower guide pin doesn't slide like the upper one. I have never seen this before is...

YOU NEED TO COMPRESS THE CALIPER PISTON USING SPECIAL TOOL 09580 - 3400 OR YOU CAN USE A LARGE C CLAMP AND THE OLD BRAKE SHOE NEXT TO CALIPER PISTON.BE SURE TO SIPHON OUT 1/3 BRAKE FLUID OUT OF THE MASTER CYLINDER BEFORE COMPRESSING CALIPER PISTON BACK IN THE CALIPER BORE.WHEN YOU FINISH REPLACING REPLACING REAR BRAKE SHOES.MAKE SURE BRAKE MASTERCYLINDER RESERVOIR COVER BACK ON RESERVOIR BACK IN PLACE.THEN PUMP BRAKE PEDAL TO SEAT BRAKE SHOES AGAINST ROTORS AND UNTIL YOU GET FIRM SOLID BRAKES.THEN CHECK BRAKE FLUID LEVEL.DONT DRIVE CAR IF BRAKE PEDAL FEEL SOFT NOT FIRM.CHECK FOR LEAKING BRAKE HOSE OR LEAKING CALIPER PISTON SEAL.

My 2005 Tiburon GT's rear brake pads appear shot, but the front still look great. Every other car I've had--the opposite has always been the case. Is this "normal" for the Tiburon?

this is normal cos the pads on the rear are smaller than the fronts.....remember to always leave the car in park NOT in nuetral, cos it WILL run away when the rear brakes get cold......

Replacing rear brake pads. I cannot get the calibers to spread and fit the new pads? How does the calibers move back in..

No do not use a c clamp to press the rotor back in unless you plan on breaking your clamp !!!! On that particular model of (Tiburon) the calipers screw back in.

How do you push in the cylinder in rear brakes to change pads on a 2005 tiburon

The Tiburon's rear disk brakes are self-adjusting to compensate for pad wear. You need to twist the piston clockwise to retract it into the caliper. You should do this using a special tool from Hyundai. Alternatively, you can get generic rear brake caliper tool at most auto parts stores that you can use on the end of your ratchet.

Or, you can be really careful with a pair of channel-lock pliers and grip the edge of the piston, allowing you to twist it back into the caliper.

I have an 06 hyundai tiburon gt v6 and im replacing the rear brake pads but the caliper pistons seem to be stuck! is there any way they are tied into the front brakes r is this just stuck caliper...

On cars with 4 wheel disc brakes the rear calipers are what they call racheting. The pison needs to be turned clockwise at the same time you are pushing in.This mechanisum is for the E brake system. They make special tools for doing this that you can pick up at your local parts store.

hi assume you wish to fit new pads ? if so the the rear caliper pistons are not as front calipers just push back you have to wind back the pistons whilst applying pressure to piston there is a tool specially for this purpose which saves time and effort cheapest un uk is the one made by draper tool Co see motor stores? however! you can improvise and manually wind pistons back using the U shape spanner with 2x prongs that is commonly used/supplied to circular saws and this is spanner for changing blades ? does the trick if you have or can borrow one? look at pistons and you will see where tool locates you just turn c/wise and press piston as you do and it will retract have a little patience! the most important tool in the box that money can't buy ! hope this helps best wishes from uk
