Either a direct short from wiring or bad cruise switch which is right by brake light switch

CRUISE CONTROL WON'T WORK ON 2005 CHEVY TRAILBLAZER

check cruise control fuse and check the brake lights see if brake light working because the brake light switch will deactivate cruise control when brakes is applied.if brake lights dont work either fuse blowed or switch bad.if all is good have vechicle code scan because cruise control control by PCM and vechicle speed sensor and thottle actuator control motor.

I nave no brake lights and my cruise control has also quit wotking. I have checked my fuses and none of them are blown.

There was a recal for a faulty brake switch. I took my 2004 truck in and it was done for free. I would take it to a dealer and have them check and see if the recal work was done.

No brake lights or cruise control on a 2004 E 450

check the fuse for the lights sometimes the fuse handles more than one circuit but check each individual fuse to make sure that it has not blown if the fuses are ok check the relays. this should solve the problem.

Brake lights and cruise control stopped working at the same time?

Ther is a recall on the brake light switch it makes the cruise control not work too. but Chevy only recalled the Brake lamp Switch. Recall #09049.Hope this helps.

2004 Ford Freestar cruise control not working

Try pulling up the brake pedal with your foot,Sometimes your brake doesnt come back all the way,and the brake switch keeps the cruise from working. Also, check the fuse.If those answers dont help,It could be the swith itself is bad. Those can be bought at a parts store.

Brake light fuse keeps blowing Noticed our brake ligths were not working...checked the fuses under the dash and they were fine...checked under the hood and found one blown...replaced it and the brake...

Take a look at the wiring to the brake lights. It is quite possible that over the years one of the wires has rubbed against another enough to short out, causing the blown fuses.

We had the distribute replaced and now the brake

Sounds like a fuse, in the underhood fuse box, the brake lights & cruise are on the same 20 amp fuse. After replacing the fuse, check the brake lights first. Then see if the horn works, horns usually are the cause for a blown fuse, they short out.

My '89 Crown Vic keeps blowing brake light fuses. Does fine until I use cruise control then blows fuse. Still has parking lights and signals but no brake lights. Has happened repeatedly. Now I don't use...

check under the dash st the brake pedal, there is a brake light switch which is tied into the cruise control, you could try unplugging that and see if it fixes the problem(remember you will have no brake lights while it's unhooked) if the problem is gone replace the switch.
