Question about Saturn SL1
There is a web site called getsaturnparts.com, you can find about any NOS part there for saturns. they have never sent me a wrong part.
what you are needing is a good mechanic, not necessarily a dealer. if you google around however you will find a local GM dealer that has been saddled with the saturn warranty issues. they may or may not have an exsaturn mechanic on staff. they will however have access to tech support, recalls, and manuals from what is left of Saturn.
with the expense you are looking at, were I you i would think about a used engine with much lower mileage, they can be found at junkyards across the land. i think a saturn engine up to 98 will fit your car. you have to know whether you have a SOHC or DOHC engine and you must replace it with the same type used motor. you can swap your engine for a rebuilt engine as well, those run about 2 thousand dollars.
