Since that particular tranny is heavily computer controlled you need to hook the car up to a diagnostic computer for that problem.

2002 jeep liberty auto trans check engine lte on code p0700 and will not shift of=ver 2nd gear when goes into 3rd gear it feels like in neutral

p0700 is pretty much the generic code for saying the computer that controls your transmission has a problem, it may not be the actual computer its self, but one of its sensores, or a bad wire, i would recomend taking it to a reputable transmission shop

Po700 reading on meter at home mechanics are saying I need new battery its weak

That code is for a transmission problem.

If you DO have a weak battery, it is best to replace it before winter comes. If you are unsure if it is really weak or not, just about any auto part store will test it for free.

I DID NOT SEE CODE UO103 BUT CODE PO700 IS AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION CONTROL SYSTEM MALFUNCTION.WHAT CODE IS TELLING YOU THAT YOU HAVE A FAULTY TRANSMISSION CONTROL MODULE.THATS A GARAGE FIX BECAUSE THEY HAVE TO REPROGRAM IT BEFORE YOUR JEEP WILL SHIFT RIGHT.

I have a code book and in the generic section it says transmission control system malfuntion. that might not be it but you could start checking that area.

PO700 CODE ON 2002 JEEP LIBERTY

This code is simply telling you to checkfor transaxle codes. if they tell you that the TCM is bad . They are wrong. you need to get a special code for the transaxle. Sorry, but thats all the P0700 code means.
