Question about 2003 Cadillac Escalade
Jump the vehicle and then disconnect the battery if it continues to run then it is the battery, if not then the alternator. An auto parts store will check the charging system free of charge and if the battery needs to be replaced they will install the new battery when purchased from them. Tim

Several things to check. If you can get to the alternator, remove the wire that goes from the battery to the alternator. Check to see if it drains it over naight. If it doesn't then it is the alternator. If it still drains then there is another problem and not the alternator. It could even be the solenoid staying "engaged" on the starter. could even be as little as the glove box light staying on due to a broken switch. Will be glad to give more pointers.

first when was the last time the drive belt was replaced? replace the drive belt first then have the alternator tested if the belt did not help the problem

SOURCE: "Altenor & Battery
I had the same exact problem on my 1995 lincoln after I had a stereo installed, and what I found was that the battery cable come from the battery on the positive side going to the (igniton relay)I'm not sure what its exactly called but it's mounted on the passenger fenderwell, well the nut was loose because the installer forgot to tighten it down before the car left the shop.So when I got in my car and went to start it, the connection was just strong enough to start but once the car was driving down the road and hitting bumps in the road causing it to become disconnected and the dash cluster started going crazy because the connection was making contact then coming off then make contact again and so on.......I hope this helps.
