Question about 2005 Mitsubishi Endeavor

1 Answer

The drain for the air conditioner must be plugged because when I go around turns you can hear water splashing and it sometimes leaks into the passenger compartment. I can find no hose for the drain. Should it have a drain hose and where can I find and unclog the drain. Thanks Ken

Yes it should have a drain. Look under the vehicle on the passenger side toward the bottom of the firewall.

Where is the drain line for the air conditioner for a 2000 Oldsmobile Intrigue?

Sounds like a classic example.
The drain hose or tube should be near the bottom of the firewall where it meets the floor on the passenger side.

I hear a water noise under the hood. Is is like water sloshing around.... Dealership told me it was the water pump, didn't solve the problem.

Some of these had problems with the window seals for leaking. The other thing I would check is your evaporator drain plug. Have another shop put car in the air and ask them to blow a small amount of compressed air in the evaporator drain plug outlet, if it is clogged a lot of water will leak out. That could be your noise. But also have them inpect for any tears.

Air conditioner is working in my 2007 edge but water dripping from dashboard and when I turn you can hear water moving around from behind the dash.

Check the drain hoses. If you are getting water inside the cabin, namely on the passenger side, then you have a clogged or crimped drain hose.

Feel around the passenger side front foot well for wet carpet. Inspect all the hoses and drain plugs to make sure you remove the clog.

Water collection in the air conditioner. Drain is

You need to clean the drain out as your first step. This is accessed by raising the vehicle on a lift then using something like a coat hanger pressed into the drain hole at the base of the firewall next to the transmission bellhousing on the passenger half of the vehicle.

check your drain on the HVAC system, it sounds plugged, should be a rubber 90 degreee elbow or plastic pipe sticking out of the bulkhead on passenger side in the engine compartment, make sure it is clear, try putting a small screwdriver in to help clear the opening.

Water in the Heater system

On the engine side of the firewall you need to find the small rubber drain hose. it is likely plugged up. dont stick anything hard in there or you can damage stuff inside the heater box.

Miata, leaking convertible top

Do you hear water splashing around when you come to a quick stop or sharp turn. If so small weep holes under the car below the door threshold are clogged up. This happened to my 91 Miata. Use a thin nail or coat-hanger wire to clean it out and the water will empty out. There are two holes on each side of the car near the front and back of the door area. Sometimes behind the side windows where the top meets the car there is a small flap of roof material that gets pushed back to the wrong side of a piece of plastic where there is a drain. I am not sure if this applies to a 99 but I had that happen on my 2006 before.

Water in the Heater system

Do you have a drain plugged outside under hood on firewall. Looks like a rubber elbow or similar. Gently poke something inside, not too sharp or far to clean out. If all else fails try a little compressed air to dislodge.
