Question about 2003 Pontiac Grand Am
I had a 2000 Grand Am that did the same thing with the security light a couple of times. If I remember correctly you need to turn the ignition on for like 10 mins and then turn it off and it should start. I believe it tells you what to do in the owners manual if that doesn't work.

This is a common problem in GM vehicles and even more common in Grand Ams for some odd reason. As far as cost, this sytem is very expensive to fix and even harder to diagnose. The best luck ive had is just by bypassing the entire system. This link helped me alot and has ways to fix this yourself.
