You can also remove the a/c compressor and install a bypass pulley in its place. You can still use the standard belt this way, just run it to the bypass pulley instead of the a/c compressor. RockAuto has them at the link.,2001,impala,3.8l+v6,1384084,heat+&+air+conditioning,a/c+compressor+bypass+pulley,10329

01taurus 3.0 dohc ac compressor is going bad calls

If the clutch is ok then you don't need to do anything, just don't turn on the ac, other than that you can sometimes bypass by using a smaller belt, just be careful you run all pulleys the right way, the job to remove and replace the new compressor should only take 2 hours

How to bypass the air condtioning

Not really. I am not aware of that model being sold without ac.
So there would not be a belt and idler pulley used in place of the compressor.
The easiest way to fix it is to get a used compressor and put it on. You don't have to charge the ac for the pulley to work.

How to circumvent the a/c clutch pulley on a 2003 ford taurus

On a 3.0 OHV you can not bypass the a/c pulley. You either have to replace the compressor or you can buy a pulley and bracket that takes the place of the a/c compressor. You can find these at your local parts store. You other option is to find a used a/c compressor. Let me know if you have any questions and I'll do my best to answer them. Thank you for using!

A/c compressor locked down on 2001 Ford Taurus SE V-6 how do I bypass the pulley without haveing to remove the compressor

unplug the compressor. that should dissengage the electrically activated clutch. This solution worked on my 1988 Bronco which is much older, but the theory is sound and should still work.
Good Luck

I want to take off compressor and by-pass with a pulley

Hello newf_girl...Yes you can do this on the 3.0 litre taurus. Several aftermarket bypass pulleys are available. Some require the removal of the compressor, others let you unbolt and move it to the side. The pulley bolts in place of the Air Conditioning Compressor, allowing you to use the factory size serpentine belt. They sell for about 40 dollars at 1A Auto online. Here is one that will fit your taurus....
Part Number: 1AEPM00006
Good luck...i hope this helps, please rate me a fixya.
