What I generally do is drill a hole into a stratigic location into the rail and apply a screw to hold everything into place. If this is only going to be for one night, remove the regulator and then remove the motor from the assembly. Once you do that wedge a board snuggly into place to hold the window up. I will send you instructon via email in addition to this advice.

Drivers side window on 1999 Pontiac Grand Prix won't power up...could it be regulator? Thanks

Could be, but first try checking the switch , that might be the problem. I have 2 grand prix and the switches fail, I think they are defective

Pontiac Grand Prix Drivers side window won't go down

take the door panel off and see if your regulator is not stripped it is a cable regulator so the wire will be hanging if not try directly operating the motor at the motor and see if it moves up and down fairly easy and fast like new. if it does the problem is in the switch and will need to be replaced. the plug on the motor is a two wire plug and can be hooked up in either direction to make window go up and down.

I turn the key in the ignition, dash lights all, 92 grand prix le

Problem number one sounds like a dead battery to me. Problem with driver door is the cable in your window regulator is broken and bound up. Will need to replace the regulator. Passenger side window problem could be caused by a number of things... most common that come to mind are window guide not in correct position or one of the bolts that hold the window to the regulator has come loose.

There is no diagram. You will have to buy a window regulator. If the cables are not in there right places on the regulator then something has broken and you need a new one. Hope this is helpful
