The MAP sensor bolts to the intake manifold between the intake and the coil pack. The green 3 pin connector will go right under the manifold so you have only so far you can go.

Sorry, misread. One vacuum hose comes from under the intake and goes to an accessory lead with constant vacuum applied so the sensor can read and the other side points toward the coil pack and curves back around and goes to the fuel pressure regulator. Let me know if you need anything else.

MAP sensor repacement

Kind of car and year. Most MAP sensors are located on the firewall on the passenger side. I believe most newer cars don't have MAP sensors anymore. Of course I have been wrong numerous times before. :)

Stopping at red light the car starts to stutter as I accelerate

Your confusing MAP with a MAF sensor . You can not clean a MAP sensor .
manifold absolute pressure sensor (MAP sensor )
mass air flow sensor MAF you can clean .

admissions = emissions !
accelerate again and it starts to stutter. Try the TPS - throttle position sensor .

Map sensor location

Don't know what kind of car this is, but if it's got a MAF sensor, or an Air Flow Meter sensor, then there is no map sensor. Only one or the other.
Black smoke, eh? Sounds like you're on the right track.

Where does the map sensor sit

Hi, see the picture below. Before replacing the MAP sensor, check the vacuum line for leaks. If the vacuum is good and you have a voltmeter, check the signals. With the key on, there should be 5 volts DC between the outer terminals of the connector. Don't take it off--just stick your meter probes in the back of the connector until they touch the bare wires. If you don't have 5 volts there, the problem is not the sensor--it's the wiring or the computer. If you do have 5 volts there, check the voltage from the white wire to either of the other 2. That voltage should be between 1 and 5 volts, and it should change a lot when you start the engine. If it doesn't change at least a couple of volts, the sensor is probably bad. Please let me know if you have questions, and thanks for using FixYa.

Need to know how to clean a mas air flow censor on a ford econoline van 91

I don't believe this year model uses a mass air flow sensor, but a map sensor . but to clean a mass air flow sensor, you have to remove it from the sensor housing, then look at the wires in the sensor, then take a cotton swab with alcohol on it and very gently rub the wires with it.

I have poor fuel mileage on my Toyota Noah Townace 4WD (Gasoline). I diagnosed P0105 which I think is related to the MAP sensor. Changed the MAP sensor, no luck. Changed the MAP sensor connector, still no...

Clean your throttle body until its just about squeaky clean. THIS SHOULD HELP ALOT!!!! AND MOST LIKELY CURE YOUR PROBLEM!!! Try seafoam. Just pour it in your brake booster vacuum line. It goes straight to your throttle body. And let the seafoam work its magic. Your car will smoke while running seafoam through it. (because its pretty much cleaning your whole motor) So Don't pay attention to that. It is supposed to smoke. Good luck. James Booth. Hope this helps. Please rate this answer. :) Thank you

I am trying to locate where the map sensor is on my 2006 Chevrolet express 1500 4.3 van. I need to install a new one have the part but need to know where it goes.

I don't mean to be critical, but if you do not know where the MAP Sensor is, then you could not possibly have tested the MAP Sensor circuits. If the MAP Sensor circuits have not been tested, then there is no way that anyone can be certain that your vehicle actually needs a MAP Sensor. (Many MAP Sensor codes cannot be fixed by replacing the MAP Sensor itself.) Then again, you might just get lucky.

To answer the question you asked, The MAP Sensor is located on the passenger side of the intake manifold near the rear of the engine. You must remove the doghouse to get to it.

I recommend that you also review this article: What Else Could Be Wrong?

I wish you luck!

I hooked up my 97 dodge 1500 5.2 liter to a computer and it said the map sensor needed to be replaced. but i dont have the money for one right now so i was wondering if i could clean it to help till i get...

Try using alcohol. It should clean it right up. But if it is burnt up it won't help at all. Usually when the map goes out it is garbage. The old maf sensors could be cleaned when the light came on, but I don't know about the MAP's.
