The chip in the key is only 1 part of the antitheft system. The ignition or the TDM (theft deterrent module) could be bad. Check out this link, it explains how it works and offers a reasonable solution to the security problem. http://vatspasslockpasskeysecurityhelp.yolasite.com/

I'm not clear on "will not crank and injectors are not pulsing". Crank can mean different things depending on where you're from for instance.

Lets first assume "crank" to you means the engine rotates when the key is turned but will not start and run. If this is the case then it more than likely NOT a VATS issue. Since you state there is no injectors pulsing then first check the wires from the injectors and under the air cleaner assembly. If they are plugged into the injectors all the way and the wires are not pinched and grounding out then take the Ignition Module to be tested. Autozones do this. The module is located inside the distributor. The module send a reference signal to the computer that the engine is turning.

Now if it wont crank as in wont rotate when the key is turned to the start position then there of course would be no injector pulse as well. This would be the time to check into the VATS system. The weak link in the system is not the key's resitor or the Pass Key module but the ignition lock cylinder. There are two small wire attached to it up where the key is that will break after a while because the wires move as the key is turned. When that happens the key's resitor cannot complete the circuit. The cheap and easy fix is whats commonly called a VATS bypass (Its not really a bypass as the Pass Key module always stays in use). I will assume the link provided earlier here will show how to do that. The more costly fix would replace the lock cylinder or purchase a module that does away with all of the VATS system.

Also, be sure to always check your fuses.

Verify fuel pressure to the throttle body, if ok, then with the key on check for 12v at the injectors , if not , check fuses, if ok, check for injector pulse. disconnect injector connector , jump the two leads with a noid light or test light and have someone crank the engine, bulb should blink.

91 camaro 5.0 5sp no injector pulse and no power to fuel pump

Using a multimeter check the wiring for power at the pump and at the relay. It sounds like a bad relay.

You need to run move diagnostics. You are getting fuel up to the injectors but are the injectors spraying.
How do you know that your pump is fine? It might be running but is it building up the right amount of pressure? What is it at? If it is below 33psi then you may need a new pump or possibly a fuel pressure regulator.
If it passes then you will need to test the injectors. You can go to the part store and buy a repair manual and a special key that allows you to retrieve the codes that are stored. If you write back with the code numbers I can give you the definitions. Good luck.

I have a 1997 pontiac bonneville, will not start. Turn the key on and the fuel pump runs and has the right psi but when you crank it, the fuel pump pressure drops to 0 and you cant here the pump run. What...

the most common would be the crank sensor on these that good bad, there is a fuel pump relay, but these really dont go bad, start by check for spark and injector pulse,if the relay wasnt working you would not get the preasure with key on,another problem is the key chip, if your car has a chip then that your problem, may have broken wires in column, it can be bypassed with a resistor but may want a shop to do. also look inside ignition lock there are two sensors at the opening they are sping loaded to contact chip on key. sometimes they stick and dont make the contact, push lightly on them and see if they pop back out. start here. good luck.
