You can check the fuse for that or all fuses first to see if they are blowned. You might have some wires that came a lose or unplugged. The radio has to have a power plug to work so these wires might be off or lose but also the wires could have a short that shorted out the fuse to the radio so you would have to take out the radio anyways to see if the fuse is not blowned and if it is then you can use a multimeter if you know how to use one to check why the fuse blown on your radio in the first place.

I unpluged my radio to look at the harness and plugged it right back in and now my radio will not work!!! What do i do?

Check for a bent pin, or wire not set properly in the connector cradle also check for secure ground connection and all other connections. Check any hot(pos.) wires for power.

Radio doesnt work

Possible causes

1. Audio fuse (power shunt) blown or not fully pressed in
2. Audio Fuse not making a good connection in the fuse box
3. Radio is unplugged
4. Radio is burned out
5. Radio wiring (has been compromised by someone tinkering with it).

Go to and register your vehicle by VIN #.. you'll then have access to wiring diagrams, shop manuals, service bulletins, illustrations, etc.

Hope that helps.

How do you remove the dash and radio from a 1999 Chevy Silverado?

It's actually pretty easy. First, remove the panel surrounding the radio, AC, and instrument cluster (one piece) by, starting at a corner, prying off (gently) with your fingertips. Work slowly around the entire panel until it snaps completely off - TIP: you'll have more room to take it off if you shift into D and lower the steering wheel.
The radio willl be pretty obvious to take out. Should only have to press down on the tabs (2) 1, on each side and slide out. Pull straight out until you feel the wiring harness tug. To disconnect the harness, just push down on the tab and pull apart from the radio. If you're replacing the radio, make sure you get an adapter to match up to your harness (Crutchfield has them free when you purchase a radio from them, or Wal Mart sometimes carries them.

Heater blower not working

I would check the blower motor fuse first. If that's all fine, than check at the blower motor connector (behind the glove box). unplug the connector (white connector with 2 wires red and black I think) and unplug it. Turn the fan control ON. Get a DVOM (digital volt meter) or just a plain old analog meter and check across the connector. You should have some reading, while you are using the blower controls by the radio. The faster you wabt the blower motor to go the more voltage there willl be on the meter and vise versa. So in other words on full HIGH the meter should read about 12V. On LOW the meter will be down to 6V or so. The speed adjustment of the blower motor gets done by the "blower motor resistor" and the controler by the radio. Anyways, let me know what you find as far as the voltage goes at the blower motor. OR you can just turn on the control on high and tap the motor with something solid (hammer) and see if it comes on. I have a feeling that it will.

2003 sunfire radio display does not work, but radio does.Help?

Light is burned out in radio. You can replace the front face of the radio from a good one with a good light and put on your radio and the radio will light up and work in your car. If you replace the whole radio you will need to have the radio unlocked.
Remove your radio. Locate a used radio at a wrecker. Put your car is accessory key postion and plug in the radio at the wreckers. if it lights up it is good. Remove the bottom panel on both radios and unplug the 2 wiring plugs that come from the front face. they are side by side. Unclip the front face and plug back into your radio. Replug it in and snap the bottom back on your radio. Plug back in and it will now light up your radio.
The whole procedure should not take more than 15 minutes and all you need is a 7mm socket and a flat screw driver.

If you are more daring you can also buy a cheap am/ fm only radio with a light and replace th circuit board of the back of that one to the circuit board on your radio and use your own front face again. It willl light up and all your items will function regardless of whether the doner board had cd or not. Time on this is 3o minutes and you need a small wrench to remove the screws in the board.

Good luck. I replace about 10 on these each week so the wreckers in my locations no longer have many low end radios avalialbe either. This is the lowest cost way on fixing this issue.
