What kind of a sound do you hear when you turn the a/c on? Where is the sound coming from? It sounds like your a/c compressor is going bad. Compressors a lot of the time will make a grinding or growling noise that you can hear from the engine compartment and it will only happen when you turn the a/c on.

Could be your compressor clutch is slipping. Get it running and look at the clutch. Likely your low on freon.

I have a 1995 GMC Sierra 500, the heat only blows hot when the truck is idling, when you get up to say 30 mph or 35 mph it will only blow cold air. What could the problem be?

It sounds like the engines thermostat is stuck open, when you idle the engine has little air over the radiator so the heater will work, but when you are driving lots of air and the engine runs cold. I am sure you just need a new thermostat.

A/c is not blowing real hard

is the velocity of the air not blowing hard, or does it not blow cold air? if the air is not cold, it sounds like you need to have your a/c system recharged.

Air conditioner is blowing cool air not getting cold, also blow an odd odor. What could be the problem?

this model has a history of the a/c evaporator clogging with debris causing low air flow and odor also check for a clogged drain at the a/c box

Cooling fan relay location on a 2005 gmc sierra

If air is hot then cold it sounds like you have a sizable air pocket in the cooling system. This could be caused by a leak or if you have recently done anything to the system without bleeding it afterward.

HEATING PROBLEMS

Need more information. The most important thing would be to watch the heater water valve move when someone turns the control from hot to cold, back and forth?
Heater valve controls tend to be operated by vacuum, and switched by a heater computer. Lots of possibilities. But first tell us what you see move when operated? Valve is usually in engine compartment, in the heater hose. Follow the hot one.

Here is a TSB (Technical Service Bulletin) for your vehicle for loss of temp control.
File In Section: 01 - HVAC
Bulletin No.: 01-01-39-007
TECHNICAL
Subject:
Loss Of HVAC System Mode and/or Temperature Control

(Reroute Wiring Harness)
Models
1999-2002 Chevrolet and GMC C/K Pickup Models (Silverado and Sierra) 1999-2002 Chevrolet and GMC C/K Utility Models (Avalanche, Suburban, Tahoe, Yukon, Yukon XL, Denali) 2001 GMC Sierra C3
2002 GMC Sierra Denali
2002 Cadillac Escalade, Escalade EXT
Some customers may comment that they cannot control the HVAC system modes and/or the temperature. These concerns may be intermittent.
Cause
There may be poor terminal contact and/or bent terminals in connectors C206 (RPO C68 automatic HVAC controls) or C296 (RPO C60 manual HVAC controls). Excessive tension on the wires due to the wiring harness being miss routed in the instrument panel carrier may cause these conditions.

If the warranty campaign is over i am sure they can or may have in the system on how to correct the problem.
Good luck and hope this helps, keep me posted if you need help on to the repair procedure.

The clutch in compressor is controlled by a pressure switch. Start there.
