Penny dropped into the cigarette lighter of my 2008 saturn astra. I got the penny out, but the cigarette lighter doesn't work

hi,

there must have been a weak connection somewhere in the line.
use a volt meter to trace from the lighter to the fuse box.
I have also seen the wire connection go bad during a short in the back of the fuse box itself where the wire goes in.
follow the 12 volts and you will find your problem.

The fuse panel is in the convenience center (black box under the hood on drivers side). Unscrew the cover. There is a fuse map under the cover. The cigarette fuse is a yellow 20amp mini blade type.

How do i find out if its the cigarette lighter port or a fuse that needs replacing on my 2008 Mazda 5?

I pulled fuse 4 from the inside fuse box on the passenger side dashboard, but quickly realized it is for the rear power outlet, not the cigarette lighter outlet. The cigarette lighter outlet is fuse number 6. They are both blue 15A fuses.

The cigarette lighter fuse is located in engine compartment under hood. Engine Compartment Fuse Block: The under-hood fuse block is located on the driver side of the engine compartment. all cigarette lighters in vehicles are ran to a 12 amp fuse. look wherever your fuse panel may be (under the hood, in next to the steering wheel) and see if you need a new fuse. good luck

Cigarette lighter fuse..

Its in the main fuse panel under the hood on the drivers side. There are two different fuses ones marked acc prw that's for the two non cigarette lighter plugs. The other is marked cigar that's for the cigarette lighter.
