Question about Buick Rainier

1 Answer

I have a 2004 Buick Rainier. Recently when I pulled the key from the ignition the radio went off. Normally the radio stays on untill I open the door. In addition to this, the fob will no longer lock or unlock the car. I must do this manually now. I have removed and cleaned the battery cables and reset the fobs all to no avial. Not sure which fuse to check if that is the next step, any help?

You should check all the fuses maintanence once in a while so you can replace the same amp fuses though. Have you put a new battery in your fob because the battery in those do go bad. It could be a short in some of the wires that is doing this so if you know how to use a multimeter to test the wires of the radio connections and any other wires but plus check your ground wires too.

What fuse handles the relay for the fob? No shorts, good clean grounds. Battery in the fob was the first thing changed.

There is another legitimate and easy way to disable seat belt chime. Radio is supposed to stay on til door opens. That is correct

Radio does not go off when key is out of ignition and door is shut

You are on the right track...the problem appears to be on the driver side rear door actuator switch...locate this spring loaded sensor usually on the inside of the door by the hinges...spray it with PB Blastor, or WD 40...(Blastor works better) and move the switch back and forth...this should loosen up the sticking actuator and return your Buick to normalcy...Hope this helps
