Question about Kia Optima

I just put on a crank sensor and a timing belt on my kia and it ran great for a week, the cost was 509.00 now it wont start when i try to turn my key all i hear is a clicking sound.I took it back up to the shop and they say now i need a new starter. What do should i do.

If it making a clicking sound it most prob is the starter,so get it replaced,hope this helps

I thought i lost the timing belt. It stalled like it. but its all good just wont start


Did you crank it over or try to turn the crank shaft and see it the cam/s turned. After that look at the crank sensor. Have the codes read first.

Car wont run below half a tank


If it has a timing belt,that is your problem

The exhaust converter & all the oxygen
sensors will have to be replaced as they
fired from the heat of a timing or misfire
issue

Check fuel pressure also after you resolve

Timming belts and OBD2 codes.


Its possible the gears are not on the right marks.
Have you checked cam timing since replacing the second belt ?

If I understand you correctly it seems like belt "b" came off. If in deed it came off it is possible that it did som damage to the crank sensor and now since the computer doest have an rpm reference the vehicle won't start. You may have to revisit the work done and make sure everything is in order. Keep in mind this is an interference engine. Meaning that misalignment of the cam and crank or a belt coming off or breaking while everything is in motion will cause internal damage to the engine. Good luck.
