Going down the hiway way and my 1994 olds delta 88 royale just died. Car cranks but does not start. I check the fuel pump fuse and relay both seem to be fine. I have power to the fuse and power to the relay. I took the fuel line apart at the fuel filter and turn on the key and no fuel comes out of the line I cranked the engine and still no fuel. So I took the gas tank off the car and took the fuel pump out I hooked the fuel pump up to a battery directly and it works really well one direction and poorly when the leads are reversed. I connected the fuel pump back up to the connecter under the car and turned the key on the pump does not come on I cranked the car and the pump did not come on. I checked my oil pressure switch and when I pulled the plug off of it it was full of oil in the connection. so I replaced the oil pressure switch and tried the fuel pump again and it still didn't work. By this time the battery was getting low and I was laying by the fuel pump and just as the battery got drained enough full the chime to stop working and the interior lights to go out the fuel pump came on for a few brief seconds then went back off. I put the battery charger on the battery but the fuel pump would not work, i turned off the battery charger and when it got to the same situtation with the battery level the fuel pump can back on for a few seconds and then off. any ideas

SOURCE: 1996 Olds ciera, V6, Engine dies when put in drive

Try disconnecting the electrical connector at the transmission and see if it stall when you put it in gear. You will get a service engine light, but not to worry, it will go back out once you reconnect.
By disconnecting the wire connector we can tell if it is transmission related.
Good luck, let me know.

SOURCE: Car takes a long time to start after parked for 8hrs or more

the older car usually need few pump and hold the gas pedal down to turn over. The timing on these car very critical. if you can try to time it to exact what the manufacture spec, change to a better plugs, change all of the filter as they need it. The other thing is make sure all of the vacumm hose at good, not cracked or leaking. that should make car run better but never is going to be as good as new.

SOURCE: Vehicle dies while driving down the road.

could it be the A/C pump kicking in. might be boging down the motor or electrical circuit, not letting the injectors get enough power. This could happen if the bearings are going bad in th A/C pump or there is a short in it. Just an idea. sounds like you have done the main components.

Driving my 98 olds 88 it died going down the road put new plugs plug wires fuel pump still won't start fuse good relay good

Why did you replace the fuel pump? Did you test fuel pressure? Test the electrical circuit for the fuel pump? Do you know how to do that? Does it have spark? Put a spark tester on a plug wire an crank the engine. What fuse an relay are good ,fuel pump .

1997 delta 88 Fuel pump went out. We replace the fuel pump and now the car will not crank. we took the fuel filter off and there was no gas in the filter. What would cause this issue and how do we fix it.

Check for power to the fuel pump. Is it possible the old pump was fine but had no power to it? If there is no power than check the fuse and the relay. If those check out good let me know and I'll get some more info for you.

Which fuse is for the fuel pump on a 89olds delta 88

The fuel pump fuse is under the glove box inside the car.
Why is it blowing is the $100 question!
Here's a good one from left field- Check the Oil Pressure sending unit before going for the in tank pump.
They share the same power (fuse)
Go figure!

Loking for fuse box/relays diagram for 1994 Olds 88 Royale

Fuses (located on a swing down unit near the steering column or in the glove box) protect all the major electrical systems in the car. In case of an electrical overload, the fuse melts, breaking the circuit and stopping the flow of electricity.

I suggest check your 1994-Oldsmobile-Eighty-Eight-Owners-Manual for descriptions (page 223 and next).

Hope this help..
