Just curious, do you have a copied key or original......as it might be losing it's code or the baqttery might be going flat in the immobiliser remote ?????

I am having the same problem with my 2008 Magnum. I can almost count 3 seconds before it will turn over. I have a back up FOB unit that has rarely been used. I tried it, same problem. I use the FOB alone, no extra weight on it from keys or a chain. Still does the same thing. I also tried replacing the battery, no difference. The Kia Dealership I bought it from says it has to go to a Dodge dealership to get tested. The closest one is 45 minutes from me. Any ideas what could be wrong?

Update on my 2008 Mag issue. I took it to the dodge dealership and had it tested. Cost me $90 but found out it was the Win Module. There is a "service bulliten" from Dodge on this. The dealership downloaded the update into my car and told me to let them know if it did not get better. It took about a month, but now it starts like new. I also make sure that nothing is plugged into my dedicated charging port (where I plug my phone or dvd player) when I turn off the engine. Not sure if that helped. The dealership also told me to have nothing on the FOB ring except the fob, because Dodge electronics are very sensitive (interpreted as lousey). If the update did not fix the problem than the WinModule is located under the stearing collum and costs about $350 for the part and then labor and reprogramming keys. Just an FYI.

I would have the computer scanned ( no SERVICE LIGHTS right ? ) looking for an errant coolant sensor not telling the computer to give your vehicle a bit RICHER ( a little bit more fuel ), since it does start. Just has POOR cold drive away. Hope this helps

Security light stays on, and car won't start.

leave key in "ON" position (not start) for EXACTLY 10 MINUTES! As SOON as the light shuts off, turn key and start key.

Every time you put key in, turn and start right away, DO NOT HESITATE.

There is a problem with the car's computer causing this problem IN ALL GM VEHICLES.

Car wont start up right away

Crank or cam sensor probably as plugs bad plugs would start but miss the sensor will either give a start or no start condition and on 1 truck the crank sensor went out and it would run cold but miss like crazy when warm,I work in a chyrsler shop and have never seen that happen and even a scan tool didn't pick it up.

Hard start and rough idle.

Sounds like it's time for a tune up of the ignition system. That would be easiest. If not, have a mechanic check your cylinder compression.

Car losing power and turning off

if your car is 2003+ try turning the key to run (but not crank) then to acc. 3 times and the engine codes will show up on the odometer, then you can look up what those codes are to help diagnose some of the problems.
