I have a 2004 GMC Envoy XUV with 127000 on it. The vehicle has been maintained and services better than any of my previous vehicles so this specific issue is just driving me crazy. About a week ago I noticed a loud ticking sound coming from the engine. I thought it might have been the lifter not having enough oil around it but it wasn't the case. It usually happened around morning when the engine was cold but now it ticks all the time. It has gotten to the point that people think I have the Disel engine. Took it to GM and they said it is either clutch fan or blown valve. Took it to an oil change place and they connected a code reader to the computer which came up with the code P0014 "b" Camshaft Position - Timing Over Advanced or System performance.. Also the engine light is now on. Do you have any suggestion or previous experience with this particular issue? Thanks Joseph

These engines are known for ticking fan clutches. If the ticking doesnt significantly increase with the engine revving, it may be the fan clutch. The clicking usually happens momentarily and dissipates, and increases only to a certain engine speed. If its an internal mechanical issue, ticking will increase simultaneously with the engine speed increase.

2004 GMC Envoy Radio high pitched noise when off and static

In my opinion, it's almost certainly the radio. Even when turned off, it is still alive managing a few other things (like chimes) until you exit the vehicle, and I suspect that part of the radio is faulty.

I am trying to locate the block heart cord on a 2004 GMC Envoy XUV. The the vehicle manual does not give the location.

the cord should be routed to the front of the grille area.
The actual heater unit is magneticly attached to the block , and the short cord routed to the front of the vehicle for ease of access.

My rear window motor is stuck on and wont stop making sounds will this drain my battery my vehicle is envoy 2004 xlu v8 the sound stays on even if the vehicle is shut off and im afraid if i leave it on all...

It will drain the battery. Sounds like a bad connection for the motor on the window. If you don't use these windows much it would be better to remove the fuse for them. Or access the motor to disconnect it until the connection can be traced down.

My 2004 gmc envoy xuv speedometer cable is stuck on 120, how do i reset it or is that possible

There was not a recall, but there was a class action settlement where GM agreed to extend the warranty on certain vehicles for this problem. I don't think the Envoy is covered, but you can check www.gmspeedometerrecall.com to see if you qualify.
