The running bords on my 2008 Yukon stop working

Circuit/System Description
The assist step control module (ASC) controls the running board actuators to extend or retract the running boards. Each actuator consists of an electric motor and a potentiometer. The module supplies a low reference and 10-volt reference source voltage to the potentiometer. The ASC control module monitors the voltage drop across the potentiometer on the position signal circuit. When the actuator shaft rotates, the voltage on the position signal circuit changes. The ASC control module supplies the actuator motor with a 12-volt control circuit and a ground control circuit. The ASC module controls the direction of the actuator by changing the polarity of the control circuits.
You should take this to a ASE certified repair shop that has the diagnostic tools to check for stored DTC'S in the running board control module . A code reader for check engine light codes will not work for this system !
This system can set numerous DTC'S

Diagnostic Procedure Instructions provides an overview of each diagnostic category.

2001 toyota sienna 02 heater circuit bank 1 sensor 2

Sound like a DTC P0141 - O2 Sensor Heater Circuit Malfunction (Bank 1, Sensor 2)

A code P0141 may mean that one or more of the following has happened:
* open or short to ground in the wiring harness
* O2 heater circuit wiring high resistance
* O2 heater element resistance is high
* Internal short or open in the heater element

Note: Typically a failed catalytic converter does not cause this code. You're more likely to see a P0420 code for a failed converter.

2004 Dodge Ram P0420 code. What could be causing this? My emissions are clean (all were within limits), and I just replaced all 4 oxygen sensors

This code is set when the catalytic converters are operating below tolerable efficiency limits. Basically, your catalytic converters are bad and are in need of replacement. You can have bad converters and still pass emissions, but your computer uses the oxygen sensors to determine how well they are working. If the readings are out of a set tolerance, the check engine light will illuminate and DTC P0420 will set. Clearing the code will turn the light out temporarily, but the next time the test is run, the light will come on again.
Hope this helps.

I recently pressure washed the engine of my 2000 Nissan Frontier and now get DTC code P0420. What is the most likley cause of this reading?

p0420
catalyst system effciency below threshold (bank1)
that your catalyst system has gotten to hot. or is broken on the inside check by tapping with a rubber hamer if it rattels then you may need a new one. check your 02 sensors also.

1999 Firebird SES Codes P0420 and P1404

It can be related. Was this a real highflow like a maganaflow or catco or was it one of the straight through designs? if you can see through it, even if it is marketed as a cat, it isnt.

Receiving engine code p0420 on my 2005 altima 2.5 s

A p0420 code indicates a Catalytic System efficiency failure, Bank 1.
Basically, the computer is seeing reduced efficiency of the catalytic converter or one of it's components (such as an 02 sensor)

There may be a few root causes, such as a faulty oxygen sensor, faulty coolant temperature sensor, faulty converter, Large exhaust leak, or retarded (slow) timing.

I have a P0420 code on a nissan help me fix it

catalytic converter efficiency below threshold bank 1 possible problems are engine coolant temp sensor or o2 sensor not reading properly or front and behind catalytic o2 sensors read similar-- ****** spark timing--damaged or leaking /exhaust manifold/catalytic conv/exhaust pipe. check for leaks or damage to exhaust repair or replace as necessary
