If the pressure is low it will turn the light on. If you have a light and hear knocking it's a sign that a rod or main bearing has worn to the point that it's allowing oil to escape from the crank, thereby lowering pressure to all other components. There is no "fix" for that short of a bearing replacement,
Expensive, and most times not worthwhile as debris from the bearing gets into the oiling passages and causes more problems shortly after the repair. Best option is a scrapyard engine or total rebuild.

1 i have no oil light 2 it only happens after ive been driving and stop to park the car. so in other words no noise is heard driving or after a cold/semi-warm start

    oil psi stays normal driving

Ok...you have aq gauge, not a light. Makes little difference.
Clearances within the engine change as an engine warms up. When you are talking about internal clearances you are speaking in thousandths of an inch. Therefore, everything else I mentioned above is still valid but, you are at the very beginning stages of the problem. You could use a good viscosity improver in your oil such as lucas additive but, nothing will replace or repair worn parts short of actually doing the job..

Just looking over my previous answers. You stated that you have a knock and low oil pressure after the engine is warm, after you slow down to park etc. Your oil pump varies pressure with engine rpm but if bearings etc I mentioned before are worn, low rpm pressure will be lower than normal as the "bleed off" I also mentioned allows pressure to go below normal. Contributing to that is oil temp because as oil warms up ti becomes physically thinner.
Of course you don't want my answer to be valid so you gave my answer a low rating.
Hey...what do I know, I only built them for forty or so years!!!.

Low Oil Pressure and Engine light illuminated in a 2009 Saturn Outlook with 97k miles. Car having issues starting, some engine noise, no knocking.

Potentially could be an oil pump, as if you have a situation where oil pump pressure drops due to a failure in the pump, the motor could make some noise from lack of oil and the MIL light/Oil Light would illuminate due to lack of oil pressure.

Low oil pressure indicator at low rpms (idle) '97 olds V8

Low pressure when at idle, after the engine has warmed up and the oil has thinned, indicates that the oil pump is worn and needs to be replaced.

Toyota engine noises

The oil light indicates low oil pressure, if the oil level is correct. That and the noise indicates you have a failed con rod (big end) bearing. The engine will have to come out unfortunately. From what you say, it may be that the crankshaft has not been damaged.

Knocking noinse

Sounds like a bad rod bearing. Doing an oil change with halfway decent oil will "disguise" the sound but is still there. Check oil pressure when car is warm, if u are getting a low reading it's definately rod bearing (s). Car must be completely warm. Drive around for ten fifteen minutes, then check.

blew something in lower end --oil pump damaged --no oil or low level --check oil pressure then do compression test as well --since knocking noise is usually called rod knock

2003 Taurus. Oil light came on. Checked level. Good. Drove another 5 miles, now have engine knock on top side of motor. Thought maybe oil pump malfunction. In the middle of nowhere, drove 50 miles home....

Before driving it anymore I would have someone test the actual oil pressure using a mechanical test gauge to see how much , or little, oil pressure you actually have. The knocking noise could be a hydraulic lifter that is partially collapsed due to low oil pressure or a rod bearing that has been damaged from low oil pressure. If it is just a lifter that is making noise then there's a pretty good chance that the lifter will quiet back down once the oil pressure is normal again. If it turns out that your oil pressure is normal both at an idle and at highway speeds then the noise may be unrelated. You can cause some serious damage by continuing to operate any engine that is low on oil pressure even if the dipstick shows it to be full of oil. Hope this helps and good luck!

Makes a knocking noise when starts and then goes away.

if this engine has hydraulic valve lifters, then it could be a weak hydraulic lifter that pumps up once the oil warms up. Hopefully you dont have low oil pressure. Does the oil light stay on for a while after you start the engine. If it does that could cause your engine to knock

Engine knock hard over 2500 rpm

Does the oil light come on or the knock occur during the engine warm up after a cold start?
There could be a couple of problems causing the issue. You could have an oil pressure pump or pump pressure regulator sticking. I would have a mechanical oil pressure gauge installed and verify oil pressure at idle and 2500 rpms to make sure oil pressure is in normal ranges.
You could also have excessive piston rod bearing, crankshaft bearing or cam shaft bearing wear that will cause oil pressure to drop too low to prevent the rod knock your hearing at 2500 rpm.
You said a knock and not a ticking noise,so I don't believe a lifter is the issue at 2500 rpm.
Start with the oil pressure check and go from there.
Let me know.

Loud ticking noise

Ticking is generally associated with a valvetrain problem but may be caused by low oil level or pressure. Noise is in the upper half of the engine. Knocking is from low oil pressure and is caused by worn bearings causing pressure loss. Knocking is the worse of both conditions (means overhaul or engine replacement.) Ticking needs to be checked for it's cause...if cause is low oil pressure, remember...oil pumps don't cause low oil pressure, pressure will lost if bearings are worn or pump inlet screen is plugged with carbon.

Low oil pressure after engine warms.....

A 1999 Yukon DOES NOT have a vacuum advance. It is computer controlled timing. Low oil pressure is the result of some or all of the following : worn oil pump, worn cam bearings, worn crank bearings. Oil pressure also normally drops as engine warms because the viscosity of the oil changes with temperature.
