1995 grand caravan, brake pedal very hard - 1995 Dodge Grand Caravan

Not sure why you have scanner readout, but the most likely culprit in the hard brake pedal/hard to stop category would be a faulty power brake booster.

Check the brake booster vacuum hose for a leak. This could cause the hard brake pedal and the idling issues both.

sounds like a problem in the master cylinder

if you follow the brake pedal arm towards the fire wall,you will see a switch that the pedal moves,this is were the brake light switch is located.

SOUND LIKE AIR IN BRAKE LINES.CHECK BRAKE FLUID LEVEL MAKE SURE ITS NOT LOW. CHECK ALL BRAKE HOSES AND BRAKE LINES. FOR LEAKS. YOU HAVE TO BLEED BRAKES.IF ALL IS GOOD.YOU HAVE MASTER CYLINDER AND ABS BRAKE FAILURE.HAVE DEALERSHIP FIX IT.THEY HAVE THE EQUIPMENT TO TROUBLE SHOOT AND BLEED THE BRAKE SYSTEM.

should be a bleeder screw on each caliper, unless, they were broken off in a previous attempt? They have to be there

i guess your brake booster is the problem. try this.... engine not running just pump the brake at least 25 times at the 25 count,just keep your feet on the brake pedal and start the engine. if the brake pedal won't go down even a little... your brake booster is gone. or something with the vacuum.
