Question about Chevrolet TrailBlazer EXT

1 Answer

I was shifting from reverse to drive and all of the sudden it won't work. Have had no problems with it whatsoever. I have been hearing a tapping sound, but thought it was coming from and exhaust leak under the truck. Any ideas? I'm a single mother, unemployed at this moment, and the truck isn't even paid for yet. This is my only transportation other than a motorcycle that my four year old daughter can't ride with me on! PLEASE HELP! Any ideas?!?!?!

If an automatic- older model- crawl under and have some one shift back and forth. Something is going to move and the thing it's supposed to move won't. there might be some cheap plastik connector broke or some spring clamp to hold the outer cable steady poped off. It will be real simple.

Won't shift to reverse

Could be a loose wire. Check under the tranny and have a look for any loose cords or plugs

TAPPING NOISE, NOW IT WON'T GO INTO GEAR WITHOUT LOUD GRINDING NOISE AND ACTS LIKE TRANSMISSION WON'T ENGAGE TO DRIVE

If it is an automatic transmission, first check the fluid level. If it is low, fill it up and try it again. If the level is fine, then there is a bigger issue and you should seek a professional's help.

You can try shifting into manual 1 to get moving then once you get going shift the lever up into Drive. This should work, then drive it to a shop to have your ****** looked at.

I changed the gear box of my 2007 corolla about 5 months ago. Then I noticed the car jerks or kind of pushes forward whenever i change my gear from park/neutral to drive or reverse. Please what do you...

A delay of more than a second in shifting from the neutral to drive or reverse gear, could mean that there is a problem with the transmission. If on changing from a neutral or park position to the drive or reverse gear, the car does not immediately catch the gear and move forward or backward, then it could mean a problem in the transmission. If you change gears, and you hear a sudden clunk or sudden jolt or shudder, then the shifting is not smooth and there could be a problem with the gearbox. If the engine rpm keeps increasing but there is no increase in the speed, then it could be a sign of the transmission slipping. Most automatic transmission systems, nowadays, have a check engine light or an OD light, which flashes if there is a problem with the engine.
