1994 saab 900s my idle drops and it dies out when I slow down or stop

It sounds like the idler solenoid is not working, but most cases this is NOT the problems. The throttle housing gets so durty that it will reduce the amount of the air flowing to the engine and cause the engine to stall.
Cleaning the throttle housing with brake cleaner or throttle cleaner will probably solve the problem.

Sounds like your idle air control valve is defective, it controls your idle speed, Check around and get the best price you can. check your local auto parts or internet for the best prices.Eary to replace ,if you can operate a screwdriver you should be able to replace it youself..just a couple screws and a wire connection..
