Oil light should not come on unless the Level is LOW or the Oil Pressure has dropped below safe operating limits. I would do 3 things
1. Check Oil Level, if low, fill to the correct level and then restart.
a. if the light does not go out....
2. Pull the Oil Pressure Sending unit out and install a pressure gauge
a. if the pressure is in normal operating limits, chances are the Oil Pressure sending unit is bad
b. If the pressure is low, the issue is
1. Oil Pump
2. Engine Main or Rod bearings are bad and a engine rebuild is on its way

Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
goodluck!

My engine light came on i have a small oil leak which is leaking to the manifold wat is making the engine light 2 come on

Hi Iggie,
Take the vehicle and have a scan carried out on it. The results will pin point the problem....The engine check light will come on with a number of faults....It's a general warning light which means a fault has been recorded and registered....

You can also take a paper clip (can mess things up, but I use it) And have it touch the 7th & 19th pin inside the service port.
