Guess you mean the battery light still comes on. if this is the case, in the power distribution box located under the hood in the engine compartment (see picture of location below) look for the fuse in the number 26 position (see picture of fuse layout below). If this is blown thiat should be the problem. Now why it blew could be a whole nother problem but it could have just been a quick overload and it just blew. I hope this helps you and good luck.

Battery light comes on, but the battery is new.The car shuts off and won't start. What can I do?

The battery light is for the charging system when it comes on when the engine is running it means that the altenator and or the wiring to the regulator rectifier is faulty Until you get them fault found and repaired or replaced the light will still come on or stay on Check the drive belt to the altenator for correct tension

Battery light and abs light is on and battery wont stay charged, new battery and altenator is good

This sounds like a bad alternator , maybe it charges at times and other times it does not, check connections to battery and at alternator, also make sure all fuse are good.

My lexus RX330 keeps is not charging the battery, what type of battery to replace it and will it recharge it self?

The batter could be the fault, should be a 065 size thats UK size, although it may be a loose altenator belt or a bust altenator, it could be on its way out, when you get a new battery fitted ask them to test the chrge coming back from the battery if it is still low then the battery is not the fault.

Hope that helps

Battery not charging

I would check the altenator again. if you didnt disconnect the battery and a spark shot off while installing the new starter it could have decharged the spool on the inside of the altenator to where the spool no longer charges. if you have the altenator checked for consistant charging and it comes up good check the relay for the altenator it most like will have messed up the relay. to make a long solution short check the relay for the altenator it will be in the relay box under the hood.

Alternator

Disconnect battery, disconnect altenator wire harness. Remove bolts and pull out altenator. When reinstalling new altenator, there should be an adjustable pulley called tensioner pulley that will either have to be pulled up or pushed down in order to put belt back on.

lf you have replacement cable ends on your battery, check that wires are not corroded under the straps. Also check alternator ground (run a ground wire directly to the alt case) I have seen "lazy" regulators at times but this is very rare. Also make sure drivebelt is tight enough to prevent slipping. Has your battery been charged and load tested?

sounds like the belt is loose. if it has a tensioner check and or replace it, if not tighten the belt. or the alternator tests ok but is actually not working at low rpm. or the battery is shorted. electricity is tricky

84 ford not charging

The only thing that comes to mind is electrical connections--battery cable connections (obvious, but worth mentioning) and all wiring to alt. and regulator, nothing loose, corroded? I'd also check the battery by swapping in something else that may fit, or having it tested. Yes, it's new, but I have seen (although rarely) a bad battery that was right off the shelf, wouldn't take a charge.
