Put somebody with good ears under the gas tank. (the fuel pump is in there). Switch on the ignition, but don't start. The pump should run for 2 seconds. You can hear it.

If it does run, change the filter.

If it doesn't run check the relay under the center of the dashboard for operation and power in and out. You may have a bad pump or plugged up in tank screen..

ISO definitive eng compartment pic/diag/schematic of fuel line & line-pressure valve/access, bleed disconnects + alt intake spots 4 starting fluid, beyond air filter intake.

to remove contaminated fuel , pull a fuel line of the fuel manifold and run the pump for a few seconds
not firing is sensor , immobilizer , ignition module problem but you stat that it fires on starter fluid so that cannot be right
starter fluid is a d good way of damaging the engine
a better way is to find and fix the fault
now to try and sort out what you are saying
it is cranking so the starter is good
it tries to run on starter fluid so there is spark to the plugs
it will not run and that indicates a lack of fuel to the injectors
a lack of fuel indicates
1--- a bad fuel pump
2--a vacuum in ht e fuel system from the tank not venting properly(EVAP system)
3--- fuel pressure regulator not working and providing pressure to the injectors
4--- bad injectors --- need cleaning
dump the starter fluid , buy a workshop manual and fix the problem properly

Do real fuel pressure test using test gauge. You changed ignition module but not coil? Are you getting nice fat blue spark? When spraying starter fluid into intake it only tries to start which makes me think you have ignition problem.

remove the air intake snorkel from the air filter to the engine and spray into the intake of the engine, while someone is trying to start the car.

Where do I spray the starter fluid (air intake?) for Chrysler Silhouette. Ran out of gas and it seems carburetor needs starter fluid to kick it..not sure where air intake is locater.. or where to open carb...

there is a large tube that goes to your throttle body (you do not have a carb), remove it and spray there-be careful, starter fluid is highly explosive, spray 2 or 3 short bursts into the top of the throttle body opening, and install the tube (you don't have to tighten the clamp). You may have to repeat this a few times, if you can only get the car to run for a few seconds 3 or 4 times, and it will not run on it's own, you have a fuel delivery problem, and no amount of starter fluid is going to fix it.

My car will not start, I replaced the starter, replaced the battery 2 months ago, I replaced the mass air flow senor, crank shaft senor and modulator? When you try to start it, it shudders and will not...

That still could be a number of things. Fuel pump, O2 sensor, Ignition coil, etc. A good way to find out if its a fuel or electrical problem is to get a can of starter fluid. Open the air intake and spray a little inside and see if it starts. If it does not, then you have a spark or sensor problem. If it does start, then you have a fuel problem.

Car wont start. replaced fuel pump (twice), fuel filter, fuel strainer, tested starter, replaced crank sensor, replaced computer. can put fuel directly into intake and will start.

Definitely not a knock sensor.

Just to clarify, you spray starting fluid in the intake and it will start and run for a short time and then stall?

The vehicle doesn't start. The battery is good

you will need to determine if it is ignition or fuel. WD40 or some other starting fluid(WD40 does not knock the engine) and spray it into the intake. If it acts like it wants to start then it is fuel if not then ignition. Fuel take line off before filter, should pump if not then it is a fuse/relay or pump, after the filter should pump if not or little filter is bad, at engine should pump if it does then it fuel injector/booster. ignition check for spark if not spark senor or distributor. Hope this helps tim

Hard starting or will not start every time

With the vehicle turned off: spray some starter fluid into your intake. You'll have to take off the hose from your air filter assembly to do this. After you spray some starter fluid reinstall the hose to your intake. And try to start your vehicle. If it starts every time you do this and runs without issues. Then you could have a clogged fuel filter or the fuel pump is going out.
