1 Answer

Hey I have a 93 toyota camry , about a month ago it stated to do this wierd chugging thing.. thinking i had bad gas i gas line antifreeze in my tank .. and it seemed to stop or so i thought.. than it got worse .. so I changed the fuel filter ..and still the same thing.. so I checked the plug wires and they seemed to be gettign a good spark so i changed the plugs.. which were pretty nasty .. and it worked great for a day and a half.. than got way worse .. as soon as it got to a good running temp it would chug so bad i would have to drive with 2 feet ..because the rpms would drop so much that it would seem like it would quite but never did .. than finaly it just quite... it wouldnt start unless i was in nuetral and could rev the **** out of it .. and the only way i could move it to get it home was to rev really high in nutral and than drop it in to gear and pray i didnt have to let off the gas... if anyone has any suggestions that would be great.

Check your intake hose for cracks (usually they crack within the flex ribbed area), ignition coil, fuel regulator...is there a check engine light lit?

I ran my 93 camry out of gas and put 5$ in but still wont start

Its possible you gummed up the fuel pump with the junk on the bottom of the tank. You also may have cooked the pump running it without fuel for lube and to keep it cool.
You need to know if fuel is getting past the fuel filter in the line.

I have a 93 Toyota Camry and windows locks don't

Sounds like you need to find the fuse panel and check for blown fuse's first. Could also be the switches are bad as well. The car is 18 years old and things have just worn out. The guys and gals at just about any auto parts store are more than willing to help you figure out what is wrong and/or refer you to a good shop.

It could be quite a few things. First and foremost it would be important to have codes pulled from the car. Depending on where your located some auto part stores will do it for free. Otherwise you will need to take it to the dealer and that will cost some money. What your describing could be quite a few things given the background you have provided. However, there are a few things that really jump to mind. My first thought would be surrounding the throttle body. A dirty throttle body and MAF can cause problems like that. Outside of cleaning parts, a bad EGR VSV could cause as well. I do know that there was a technical service bulletin for the VSV and vacuum hoses on these cars. I am not sure if your car is impacted by this or not, though it might be a good place to start.

Ultimately, before tearing apart everything and replacing parts first pull the codes. If you get code p0446 it will have something to do with the EGR or vacuum hoses.

Good luck

1998 toyota camry started jerking a bit and now

If your losing compression then I suggest doing a compression test and then following it up with a wet compression test to determine whether the problem is in the valves or pistons.
Wow one tune up in 122k miles jerking not really an ignition thing more like a fuel thing. If Compression test results are good then do a full tune up even replace coil packs or distributor ( which ever is applicable) and replace fuel filter.
These vehicles are not known for major engine problems (blown engines bad valves etc).
Big with transmission problems if its a 6 cylinder not the 4 cylinders.

First thought the misfire was due to water in the gas - that has been at least six gas tank refills ago. Not any better. Engine check light is on and occasionally the engine will run very rough and then...

You should try a new fuel filter first. Also put gas line de-icer in your tank every time you fill it.One bottle per tank.If this does'nt fix your problem then have the tank removed and flushed out, allow it to dry before installing it back on.
