Whats happening when 2001 s10 right rear brake grabs first when brakes applied

check for a leaking wheel cylinder on this side as this can cause sticking and grabbing. it could also be an axle seal leak and differential oil has gotten on the brake shoe and drum. incorrect brake adjustment on this side.

Replace rear wheel cylinder 1500

use lots of wd40 or liquid wrench. spray, tap, let sit. spray tap, and try it. If it doesnt work right away, let it sit overnight and spray and tap again next day. If that doesnt work you might have to grind the heads off and get new screws.

Can i have a defective abs system "with-out " a warning coming on???..When i drive for 20 or so miles my rear brakes heat up and start squeaking and get spongy.

Yes it is possible, but that does not sound like your problem.
Is your hand brake releasing correctly?
Get someone to help you out, have them sit in the car and press the brake pedal.
While you get out and look under the back end, look at the left and right side at the tyres. If you see fluid on them your wheel cylinders/calipers are leaking.

2001 pontiac sunfire abs and check engine light is on. brake fluid is full and the front brakes were just changed about a month ago.

I think these lights are not related. The ABS light means the ABS is not working, and has nothing to do with the brakes working. You can have brakes and not have the ABS part working. I don't think a bad ABS would turn on the check engine light, but it may.

Discovery rear air suspension sitting down overnight

My car did this. I could actually park and feel my car raise up or down. Looking at my car it was sitting completely crooked as if I had hydraulics. lol I have a 2001 Discovery II. When I had it fixed at the dealer it was the rear airbag which is part of the air ride suspansion. I hope this helps.
