Question about 2004 Ford F150
Usually there are 2 -12 volt leads on the radio...one that is hot all the time, and one that is switched by the ignition switch...it sounds like the hot all the time lead is working because the clock works...the hot lead is for the clock and for station memory backup.....is seems like the switched power to the radio is not getting power...check the fuses in the fuse box ..the one labeled radio sould be for the switched connection

SOURCE: 05 Ford F150 Radio doesn't work.
I had the same problem and i brought a new ford oem cd player 2 times and my mechanic says its an electrical problem with some fords not the Cd player or the radio. So your cd player may not be junk, it may be electrical or wiring problem.
