Dont have a solution but i have a 3.1 and its doing the same thing. we checked fuel press. and its fine but some one told me that its the fuel pump because if you drive on a half a tank of gas or less the fuel pump is not cooling off properly so it shuts eng. off. cause fuel pump is going bad and it will not show any codes if tested. so i am replacing the fuel pump $260 hopefully this will solve the problem but try driving with full tank of gass it should not do it as often but after about 10 min car should start after it dies.

During cold weather car will start and die as if not getting gas. Once started all is good.

Try letting the key sit forward for a few seconds, maybe 10-20. Allow the fuel pump to catch up. Just a thought

I have a 99 Pontiac Grand Prix GT and it won't start. i have determined that its not getting fuel. I replaced the blown fuel pump fuse, but I'm still not getting fuel. There is a fuel pump relay also,...

The no fuel problem is usually caused by a defective or bad fuel pump. The blown fuel pump fuse is actually pointing to the pump or circuit being bad.

Need to drop the tank, so let someone who has done it before do it, it's worth it.

Gasoline is kind of dangerous to deal with since it is extremely flammable and volatile.

My 1999 grand prix stalls and dies at stops.

My Pontiac Grand Prix is also a 99, it has 216,+ thousand miles on it, it runs great, idles good, I need to replace the oxygen sensor tho as it shuts off on me while driving or sometimes coming to a stop. You might try checking the fuel filter and pump as well.

Grand Prix ... my fave, too.

It is the "accelerator pump" on the carb; or rather the rubber diaphragm inside the accelerator pump.

The pump "arm" is visible on the top-front of the carb. Maybe the arm got loose or disconnected, but it's most likely the diaphragm inside.

The accelerator pump squirts extra gas when you stomp it.... while the fuel pump tries to keep up, but can't...

Maybe $10 at any auto parts store...
