It's simply the total volume of the cylinder and combustion chamber above the piston at the bottom of its travel (referred to as bottom dead center [BDC]), divided by the combustion chamber volume above the piston at top dead center (TDC).
Why is knowing your true compression ratio that important? With today's lower-octane grades of gasoline, it's important not to exceed known maximum allowable compression ratios for various engines or you may experience detonation that will quickly destroy your engine.

Hey thanks for trying... but you didn't answer my question.
If it wasn't important I wouldn't look for it.
Beside 4M40 is a diesel motor!!!

Need some wiring diagrams of Fuel pump controlled electronically on a 4M40 DELICA engine. Or some manual for this type of engine.

Most of these Japanese cars use a DENSO fuel pump. The fuel pump is attached to the primary circuit... the same one that starts your car mate. The wiring on these things seldom goes sour. It could be your fuel pump relay or the fuel pump itself. Sorry I can't assist further... Go PIES!

What do I have to take into account to exchange from a electronic fuel pump to a mechanical fuel pumplease on a 4m40 delica engine.

I don't see any way to do this, since the mechanical pumps are normally engine driven by a lobe on the crankshaft, unless this engine has that functionality built into it. Let me know if you figure out a way!

Can 4d56 engine fit in a 4m40 frame?

Probably, but why would you do this? The 4d56 is 2.5L, the 4m40 is 2.8L, some come with a turbo. You would have a loss of performance, and have all sorts of issues with fabricating bits and pieces to make it fit, plus all the injection and control issues.

I have a 1994 2.8ltr Diesel (4M40 Mtr), Delica, that conks out

try changing all the heater plugs there are warn out by now,,if it realy dont like starting up on cold days do what i do,,, give it twice the heat up time,,,,,
turn on the kye wate till the heater light go's out then quikly switch it off and turn it back on for a re-heat before trying to start it up,,,also try changing the glow plug heater relay,, it should hold the glow plug heaters on for about 30 seconds after the light has gone off even if the engen has started and is running
but i bet its not doing this? giving twice the heat takes less out the battery than cranking it over and your not wearing out the starter as well?
doing this to my old girl gets her going every time!!!!!

White smoke is a sign of unburnt diesel fuel, check your glowplugs as thats the most common cause when starting .It will start but not hot enough to burn fuel at start up, also check glowplug relay if not the plugs
