Check the charge voltage at the battery with the engine running. It should be between 13.8 and 14.2 volts. If the altenator is faulty it can bring on other lights as well as the charge light.

Could be fuel pump/filter, or air filter. You could try starting with the air filter as this will be cheap.

When I step on the gas it seems like as if it does not have power but I let it go then press on the gas again it gradually increases speed. I thought it was an air line.

Have the spark plugs been changed every 3 years

Do you have any lights that stay on your dash after
the motor is running?

Do you have stored codes?

Do you have 40 lbs fuel pressure

Is the Exhaust Converter original since 1998
If so it could be shot & partially blocked inside

Are the Oxygen Sensors being changed every
1000,000 miles

Do you have cylinder misfires,vacuum leaks,exhaust
leaks,failed egr parts,loose air filter ducting,etc,etc,etc

Gas filter ten years old & clogged?

MAF Sensor Dirty?

Think the converter needs to be replaced

Can automatic transmission cause engine to shut off, not start properly or go off when shifted to drive, engine stays on when given slight steady flow of gas

A transmission can cause a engine to stall BUT only if the torque
converter has failed in a particular way other than that can't think of any way Hope this helps

Did you check the IAC Valve, (Idle Air Control), TPS (Throttle Position Sensor) or change the fuel filter. Any Service Engine Soon light.
