5.7 votec chev avlanche 2004 . no oil pressure when started, when hit gas petal hard 3 or 4 times ,pressure comes right up. runs great after that

it is not good practice to hit the gas pedal when you have no oil pressure
not only is it wise , you have no idea what is wrong or if in that few seconds , the bearings are running dry
what I am thinking that if this started after you have had a service done , that he oil filter is el cheapo type that does not have an anti drain back valve built into the filter
when it stands the oil drains out of the filter and also drains the oil galleys so that it takes time to fill the filter and the galleys
the filter could be blocked and being bypassed as well
check and replace with a reputable make and check that it has an anti drain back valve

I have a 1996 gmc serria 1500 4x4 v6 vortec manual I can't seem to find the oil plug for the trannie it seems to me it's part of the transfercase help

Most vehicles do not have an oil drain plug for the have to drop the pan to change the oil. Make sure you install a new gasket when you put it back on.

96 chevy s10 4300 vortec oil overfilled to 8 qts now evap light on

You need to drain oil out the drain plug till it's at the proper level. Engine damage could result from being overfull-the crankshaft will be churning the oil in the crankcase around-if it starts foaming, you will lose oil pressure. Engine could seize from lack of oil pressure.

The freeze plug you replaced was due to rust or was it pushed out by freezing temperature? These plugs are not designed to protect the engine block from cracking during freezing temperatures, they are there to remove the sand from the block after casting it. I would drain your system completely and flush out the radiator thouroughly and fill with plain water, then run the engine and see if oil gets in the water, if it does and the plug was out due to freeze, then your block is probably cracked, although you could just have a head gasket leak. Oil pressure (40psi) is higher then water pressure (17psi), so getting oil in the water is always more prominent than the other way around. Flush out the system and let me know if oil returns to the water, hope this helps

Have oil in carburator in a 4 cylinder vortec motor

there are only 2 things that cause this problem, one is an overfilled crankcase, the other is a plugged/disconnected Positive Crankcase Ventalation system. (PCV)
