Any of the wire is loose from ECm.The transmission control wire or body control module wire is got loose or not connected properly.Due to this the error code P1698 comes up.Just get the wires to and wires from ECM properly checked.Any of the wire is loose.-----------
---------------Click this link for more help:--- http://technoanswers.blogspot.com/2011/05/error-code-p1698-on-dodge-ram-2500.html ----------- Also try clearing the codes.Get the car to the dealer or at local car scan center and ask them to erase the code and reset the ECM.Many a times codes gets cleared, without doing any thing.--------- This should help.thanks.Helpmech.

Try connecting external wire from ECM to gauges and see if that is helping.A local car mechanic with ECM checking skills can do this.Run external jumper wire from ECM towards gauges. Then check, if its getting power, if not then cluster board on which gauges are placed has to be checked. This will help.Thanks.Helpmech.

Hi,

The p1698 code means either that there is no digital data communication from the transmission controller OR from the body controller that is being received at the power train control module. Could be nothing more than a loose wire or can be a bad sensor.
Also check transmission oil and filter. If oil is low fill it up and if filter is clogged, replace it or at least clean it.

Please get back to us if you have further query else please accept the suggestion.

Regarding the other code that is "Prom Code 8203",there is no such code mentioned in this type of car.Kindly check it thoroughly if you had missed somethin while recording the code also try clearing the other code as the solution is given and see if the entire problem is solved.

2001 dodge ram 2500. I am getting 3 service codes 1693 1694 and 1698 what are the and how do I fix them? I just had a new engine controller put on. Any ideas

P1693 - A companion DTC was set in both the ECM and PCM
P1694 - No CCd message from PCM - Aisin transmission
P1698 - No CCd message from TCM
I would check the connections from the new engine control. Are these codes that show up new or have they not been cleared from a previous problem. Be sure all codes are cleared, Hope this helps. Let me know. Thanks

Check engine light is on with code p1698 what is this code

The code P1698 is: No CCD messages from TCM. That means the communication between the Transmission Control Module and the Power Control Module is lost. Sometimes this happens when a PCM, or TCM is replaced without being flashed, a bad connection at the PCM, TCM, or a bad TCM. Hope this helps.
