Question about Mazda RX-7
I have an 85 Mazda RX7 and have replaced all marker and tal lights with LEDs. I know the flasher has to be changed but my car has a CPU that controls the flasher. Help
Taking flasher control away from the CPU is not difficult. I had to do this on an 81 a few weeks ago as flasher was burned out and not able to find a replacment CPU. On the 81 there were only two wires that were involved with flasher control. Both were at one end of the CPU connector. Green with White Stripe was power in from the turn signal switch and Green with Black stripe was output to the turn bulbs. I simply removed the wires from the connector. Soldered in two spade connectors to the wire ends and connected these two wires to a basic 2 pin flasher unit. Works like new!!
