Hello and welcome to FixYa!

I wonder what kind of tool is missing. Regarding the windows, It's just gonna be the window motor. If the window motor is worn out or faulty it just trips. Sometimes will go up and sometimes won't. It's when the motor is failing. Have you tried replacing the window motor? If not, please do so for this can resolve the issue.

Hope this helps and thank you for using FixYa! Have a good one!

Thank you for the added information. Yes it can be purchased. Toolkit enclosures differs sometimes. And it has broken sizes too something like 5 3/4" that's almost 6mm., it can be bought on your local tool store.

How can I tell what the problem is with a front, passenger window which is stuck down?

you can put it up manually by taking the door apart to get to the mechanical parts inside the door. (go to youtube it will help you to not destroy points where the clips hold the door innards in..)

My daughter has destroyed a number of automatic window switches, interestingly in the same direction. window goes down, not back up. From constantly rocking the switch towards the back of the vehicle. Replace the switch and I bet everything will be fine... (you'll still have to remove the inside door panels so that video look up with still be needed) I got all my switches from china on ebay and have had excellent results each time... cheap too, honda wanted $125, and I got mine for like $13 delivered...took a week, so you may need to go in and put the window up in the meantime...

Window master switch seems like the window lock is stuck

Seems verry likly that the lock switch has stuck in the lock position and will most likly need to be replaced. Unless you are able to remove and spray with a contact cleaner

Passenger Power window Stuck down

The motors are usually riveted in place. You have to frill out the rivets and replace them with short bolts. See more at the link below. Do It Yourself Diagnosis and Repair

2000 gmc jimmy -4x4 stuck in 4 auto -driverside power window stuck(not the switch i think its the motor) -right side wheel bearing? caused vehicle out of alignment. -code ( secondary air injection...

4wd switch is a push button select, they are known to go bad on occasion. Take switch out of dash is not fun, would suggest taking it to a dealer.

Window motors can be replaced without extensive tools or knowledge. It takes more time to get the door panel off than replace the motor.

Yes, bad wheel bearings will cause aligment problems. They can be replaced at home, you will need to remove the wheel, brake assembly, brake mounting bracket, then the wheel bearing (hub) itself. Does require an 18mm wrench and socket (not common in your tool kit) and a 31mm (Ibelieve) socket for the nut on the end of the drive axle. Impact wrench recommended to remove that nut.
Reverse for assembly. Then have your wheels aligned. Best to replace both sides, (they are a different part # for driver and passenger side) They usually only last 60K to 100K miles.

As for your code, surf to this site for details:

2008 Cobalt - Front speakers not working and no audible turn signal. Both stopped working at the same time.

In my 2008 Cobalt, the front speaker in the driver door went inoperative - no turn signal noise, no warning chimes for door open with key in, seatbelt chime, low fuel chime, and of course, no music. All of those sounds come through the speaker. I switched the driver door speaker and the passenger door speaker, and now I have all of those noises back.

If you have manual roll down windows, you'll have to buy a special tool to remove a little clip that's behind the roller handle. This tool was included in a kit for about $7 that I bought at Harbor Frieght, but you might be able to find the kit at other auto parts stores. Google "removing window crank" and you should be able to locate a video that shows how to get it off.

Anyway, I switched the speakers and now we just don't have music coming out of the passenger door speaker, but at least we have all of the warning chimes and turn signal clicking noise again.

The dealer wanted almost $200 for a new speaker and to replace it (labor). Rediculous.

Passenger Window Stuck all the way Down

Try switching the power window switch from the passenger side to the drivers side. Before you do that try with the switch on the up position, wiggle it from side to side. The contacts may be worn and by wiggling it may make contact. Other then that try to park it in side or garbage bag taped to keep rain out till you get it to the shop.
Hint, take it to a Auto window repair shop to replace the switch if it's bad or if the motor is bad. They have more experience to removing the door panels and removing the power window regulator (motor) if that needs to be replaced.
Good luck and hope this helps.
