Hi,

The dashboard warning lights are many in a car and each one indicates several problems. Given bellow are the warning lights and the indications if the car malfunctions.

If the check engine light comes on then shut off your engine and wait for some minutes for the car computer system to reset itself. Then turn on your car and watch whether the light comes back on to stay. If it does, this indicates that your car's catalytic converter or exhaust system is malfunctioning. Count the number of times it flashes and compares it to information provided in your owner's manual. Also check when the engine light comes on the computer has stored any code or not. Take your vehicle to the nearest auto zone pull out the code.

If the ABS lights come on then It means that there is a malfunction in your anti-lock brake system. When this light comes on a special "code" is recorded in the ABS module's memory to aid in diagnosing the problem. On some vehicles this code can be retrieved by putting the ABS system into a special diagnostic mode. The code is then flashed out through the ABS warning lamp. The code number refers to a diagnostic chart in a service manual that must be followed to pinpoint the faulty component. On other applications, a special "scan tool" must be plugged into the vehicle's diagnostic connector to read out the fault code.

If the battery light comes on then it indicates multi fold malfunction to the car. Either the alternator is bad or the battery has a loose connection. Check brake-fluid level. Top off brake fluid if low and make appointment to check brakes. Driving with brake light can be dangerous;

If the oil pressure light comes on Either engine is very low on oil or there is no oil pressure. Pull over and turn off engine immediately. Check oil level and add oil if low. Turn engine back on to see if light has gone off. If oil light is still on your oil pump could be malfunctioning or a sensor could be out. So these are the few things and may be lots more to check out when the dashboard warning light comes on in car. Consult a mechanic to diagnose the problem as soon as possible.

Multiple warning lights are coming on, can this be a malfunction?

It's not showing the Yr, make & model but you referring o several different systems all at one time. Chances of all those systems going down at once are slim to none. It definitely seems like you have an elec short in the steering column or the dashboard. I would bet (not guarantee from here) that if we are talking about a Ford, with electronic dash, the dash/ motherboard is shorted out. Any recalls? Call Ford? Get it Ckd first. Good Luck

Had the oil changed in 2002 New Beetle. The check engine light, ASR (Anti-Slip Regulation), and EPC (Electronic Power Control) dash warning lights are all on. Solid lights, not blinking.

Not without clearing codes. And if the check engine light is on due to an actual problem, it can turn the other warning light on too so you know those systems are disabled. Usually a problem with ABS or traction control will not turn on the check engine light.
Your owners manual would talk more about what the lights mean.
I would have the engine computer scanned for trouble codes first.

I have an srs light and triangle with ! On the middle lit up on my dash of my 96 saab 900s. What does this mean I can't figure it out?

The abs warning light is telling the driver the system has a problem and is disabled. You still have regular brakes, but not ABS.
The triangle is telling the driver the stability control is also disabled.
Each system uses the other to function, so if a problem shows up in one it will disable both.
You would need to get the car computer scanned for trouble codes to proceed.

I replaced the battery on a 2005 chevy impala. how do i clear the "service battery charging system" text and red battery light on the dash?

That sounds like not the battery. It possibly the alternator.
-Use a volt meter to test when it's running. If it's below 13 volts
the alternator is bad.

Headlight warning buzzer not working on 2006 toyota celica

instructions:
  • 1 Turn the ignition key to the "II" position.

  • 2 Check the lights on the dash. You should see a variety of dash lights light up. One of those lights will be a "Check engine" light. This light should stay lit with the ignition key in the "II" position. The rest of the lights should go out. If the "Check engine" light begins to blink, you may have a problem with one of the vehicle's electronic components. Consult your owner's manual or call your dealership for possible servicing issues.
  • 3 Start the engine. The "check engine" light should go out after a few seconds. If it does not, this can indicate either a maintenance interval has been reached or a more serious problem with the vehicle's emissions control system. Again, it is advised to consult your owner's manual or call the dealership for service.
  • 4 Check for an illuminated "SRS" light on the dash. The SRS light indicates a problem with the supplemental restraint system, i.e., the airbag, on the Camry. This needs to be serviced by a professional mechanic.
  • 5 Check for an oil light on the dash. The oil light is in the shape of a small oil canister. When this lights up, it indicates low oil pressure. Low oil pressure is caused by a blockage in the system, a weak oil pickup or oil pump, or low oil levels in the engine. Check and see if your Camry is overdue for an oil change. It is recommended that the oil be changed at 5,000 miles or every six months.
  • 6 Check for the low fuel warning. The fuel light on the Camry is on the fuel gauge near the "E" on the gauge face. The low fuel light means that you have to refuel your vehicle.
  • 7 Check for the seat belt warning light. The seat belt warning light is a picture of a figure wearing a seat belt. If your seat belt is unbuckled, then this light will illuminate (along with a warning chime) indicating that you should buckle up.
  • 8 Check for an orange car with lights on (on the dash lights). This warning light indicates that one or both of your brake lights has failed, or the electrical resistance in the bulb filament indicates that it is about to fail and will need service soon.

A warning light on the dash like the seatbelt sign with a ball in front what is it please

images?q=tbn:and9gcromfct7szg4xy6bfz3ww6okyvqd0j2ewyn08t7kfrxtgk7gdfbxp5xoewAre you describing something like this? This symbol indicates that your vehicle has detected a problem with the airbag or seatbelt restraint system. It won't (or shouldn't) interfere with the way your vehicle operates, but it will likely disable the restraint system to prevent improper inflation of airbags. Obviously, the system won't operate properly in an accident, so you should get this checked as soon as possible.

Red indicator light comes on periodically in upper left hand corner of dash; does not stay on all the time; rectangular shaped light (not oil).

Yhe indicator that you are seeing is most likely a charging system light (alternator). It could be other things like a brake warning lamp, but I don't know what king of car you are talking about, so I have no way to look it up for you.

In any case, YELLOW or AMBER lights on the dash mean that you should use caution while driving and get the car checked as soon as it is convinient for you. On the other hand, RED warning lamps mean STOP OPERATING THE VEHICLE until you have resolved the cause of the light coming on (unless you like being stranded - or worse!).

You cannot "disable" the TPWS. Also, when you replace sensors, they need to be programmed to the TPWS computer.
