Check that your oil filter is on tight and not leaking and while your down there check the oil pressure sensor that is pluged in right next to it if it leaks it will cause the light to come on or it could be bad. the sensor is a cheap fix and a good place to start.

Dip stick for oil level not showing no oil present when oil is already present

consult the fluids and capacities section of the owners manual and verify that you have put in the listed amount of oil. If you are just trying to add oil, add a half qt at a time until it reads on the full line on the dipstick

Why is my 2001 Hyundai Accent oil light blinking ?

Sounds like to me that it could be one of two things. One could be a bad oil sending unit or the oil pump could not be pumping enough oil to the engine. Even if the stick reads full, it could be the pump. I would check the sending unit first. This is the cheapest and easiest thing to replace.

Check the sending unit for the oil then check the oil pump. I bet on the oil pump being bad.

I have a 94 Land Rover Disco. Two weeks ago the check oil light come on, I checked the oil and it was full, I then checked all the other fluid levels, and they were fine. I then changed the oil, yet the...

either your pressure is low causing the light to come on , and dangerous to your engine , or the oil pressure sending unit is dead. It is just a small pressure switch that screws into the side of the engine block and reads the oil pressure. If the pressure is low , or the sensor is dead , the light comes on. Oil pressure sending units die a lot more often then oil pumps , and they are not expensive to buy , or hard to install. The hardest part of the job is actually locating on your engine. Its location should be easy to find out online.

Oil light on when oil is full

a loose connection WILL NOT cause flickering oil light unless your your oil is empty at the same time a connector is loose. This flickering is most likely caused by clogged oil ports or failing oil pump. When this happens there is insufficient oil running through the engine, causing the sensor to activate the light intermittedly. Have this checked immediately to prevent extensive engine damage. Hopefully this helps!!

Have a 2007 Santa Fe - Just took it in for an oil change last week. Now the oil warning light is on but the dip stick reads full. Has also starting making a squealing noise

Sometimes the dealership will forget to reset the oil light after changing the oil. It is there to remind you when it is time to get it changed. If you call them and let them know that they forgot to do it, they will probably just walk you through it. Also, check to make sure the put the oil cap back on ticht. It is not the dipstick, but the larger cap on the top of the engine that reads "oil".

The oil gauge is reading 0 psi. and the oil is like 5qts. over full.. i just baught it for 600.. can i save the engine

Change the oil sending unit, might be bad, and better drain some of the oil out till it reads full on dip stick, way too much, in fact drain some out first, then if it still reads zero, get a new oil sending unit.
