Yes it could be done , but you will not find a shop ( in there right mind ) that would do this . if the car was in a accident you and the shop would be held at fault if someone was injured. search in some of the used parts like car-parts.com then the car can be repaired at a lower cost. hope this helps.. 1996 toyota celica st202 abs light come on intermitently

While it may be an eletrical issue developing, it may also be internal to the hydraulics of the brake system. If the system was recently flushed, I would look at the wheel sensors first- make sure thery have not picked up debris and sensors are snugly mounted and wiring in good shape.

If the brake system has not been flushed with new fluid, the system should get flushed out next time brakes are serviced. This may mean an expensive repair, but it depands on how comfortable and experienced you are without ABS at all.

If the ABS fails- all that happens is you lose the brake pressure modulation. Fancy word for braking yes- pulsing of the pedal by the system- no. The wheels or a single wheel "might" lock up while hard braking possibly changing handling dynamics of the vehicle..

Front brakes keep locking up i have already this week changed both front calipers brake flex lines the abs light on and stays on what is wrong now

OK, the abs light being on will mean that the ABS (Antilock Braking System) is disabled completely.

That means, that the front wheels will lock up instead of pulsing like normal under a lock up condition at the rate of 5 or 6 pulses a second.

I think that you need to look at broken connections to the wheel speed sensors, or possible replacement of speed sensors after scanning the OBD-II ABS data link with an ABS Brakescan tool such as Actron's ABS Brakescan Tool which is made just for this purpose and sells for around $100 plus shipping off of Amazon.com.

I think that Plain English explanations are available on this tool that will point you in the right direction as to which wheel(s) or circuitry to look at.

Good luck on this repair.

How do you blead the abs pump on a 1996 ford explorer

without a bleeder pump it is hard to do but you can do it by disconnecting the lines one at a time on the side going to the wheels, start the car have someone press on the brake and crack the line open do this till the air is out of the first line then go to next line and do all four lines, once you have done this then you will have to bleed the wheel cylinders starting from right rear or passenger side rear wheel the driver side wheel then passenger front side then driver side front, you will need engine running to power bleed the system, just stepping on the brake pedal without it running won't work, be sure not to let it run out of fluid as your bleeding the system or you could damage the abs system or the brake master cylinder.

Abs light on

Hi:
The first thing to determine on your car is if it is safe to drive: Check your brake fluid level in the reservoir, and make sure you don't detect any leakage around any wheel/ tire areas. Your ABS light can be scanned and tell you what tripped it. Most auto parts stores, such as auto zone, will do this for free. The most common cause is usually a bad or dirty wheel speed sensor, but have your car checked out to narrow down the problem.

i dont know about that but if its on that means that you have some senser failing its test maybe wheel speed senser.

ASC & ABS light on cluster

Check to see if your brake pads and rotors are in good condition. Or if you have replaced the pads yourself and have not reset the wheel sensors this would cause the ABS Antilock Brake System light and the ASC Automatic Stability Control light to stay on as the ASC uses the ABS brakes with computer assistance to control the traction of the car if not fixed it can effect your rev limiter slowing performance

ABS light on!

Its possible you damaged a rear wheel speed sensor when you did the strut job. If the wire was pulled tight when the strut was removed it could have pulled the copper strands in the wire from the sensor causing a open circuit. This is not uncommon. You need to have the ABS system scanned for codes and see which rear wheel sensor is effected. If you were to just clear the code it will just come back on. With the ABS light on, the ABS system is deactivated and the brake system works normally as a car without ABS.

Radiator removal BMW 316i

hi, the two clamps that secure the radiator have a small slot on the top, if you insert a small screwdriver into the slot and use it as a pry bar you should be able to unclip the holding clamp and it then releases like a hinge.
