Jeep loses power when stepping on gas

I would check/replace fuel and air filters first-if this does not resolve issues try cleaning fuel injectors also it would not hurt to clean MAP&/or MAF sensors as well

Would a lack of oil cause my car to lose power

Low oil could definitely cause this trouble. When a vehicle gets low on oil, the friction increases and that causes the pistons to move slower. Slower moving pistons means lower rpms which in turn slows the vehicle. If this condition remains, the parts will not only wear prematurely, they will actually begin to weld themselves together. I would suggest you go to a local mechanic and have a compression test done. I hope it all turns out well for you.

Losing power going up hills

sounds pretty normal. what speed do you try out the passing gear? anything above 35-45 mph and it will feel like neutral. Passing gear is actually only 1st gear. When you press down the pedal, it forces the transmisson to shift into low gear.

Ranger looses power up hill

I am assuming you have the 2.3 liter 4cylinder engine.. This is common in all rangers straight out of the factory with that motor. Your asking alot out of a 4 cylinder truck that also get good gas mileage. they just do not have the capacity to gain speed up a hill. There are a few solutions for you that you could try. If it is a 5 speed manual transmission try to speed up before the hill and when you start losing speed go to 4th gear. this is also good for using as a passing gear as im sure you have noticed you lack power when trying to rapidly accelerate at highway speed to pass. an aftermarket cold air intake combined with a less restrictive exuast will give you anywhere from 5-20 hp gain AND give you more MPG's

Or you can buy a light truck with a v6 or v8 in it. rangers can be equipped with v6 as can chevy s10's. dodge dakotas have the availability of small block v8. this is of course will cost you alot in gas (based on experience) I am a 10 yr mechanic and have owned 2- 4 cylinder rangers a 93 and a 94 my dakota which i still own is a 01

Mazda 323 fuel injection1994 accelerator problem

Try changing the fuel filter. If it clogs up the engine won't get the fuel it needs to run at wide throttle openings, the engine will ****** the timing, and you'll lose power. With less throttle the filter can flow well enough for the engine to run properly.

It slows down going up hill otherwise

check 2 items first. 1. your fuel filter. if it hasnt been changed in a while, change it. 2. go drive it for about 15 minutes hard, come back and look under the vehicle at your exhaust and what youre looking for are red hot catalytic converters. red = replace.

Car looses power up a hill

How slight was the hill and how much weight did you have in your car? When you got power back was it because you were no longer on the hill or were you going downhill?
You may just need to drop down a gear to get the power back, if you have a heavy car even slight hills can cause it to lose power especially if your in top gear. You have a "sports transmission" option (I'm pretty sure it's on all the DSG transmissions) you just need to move it across to the +/- bit and move the stick to the - to go down a gear. Otherwise you'd have to wait until your auto decides it's lost enough revs to go down a gear. Which is why I hate autos.
Otherwise it could be bad fuel or something wrong with the turbo.
