Hi , the plug on the bottom of case is the drain plug and the check/fill plug is located on the side of the case, however the transmission lubricant level and quality shouldn't deteriorate under normal driving conditions, but it is recommended that you check the level occasionally. 1. Remove the check/fill plug on the side of the case, if car is raised to gain access to the plug, be sure to support it safely on jackstands! 2. Use your little finger to reach inside the housing and feel the lubricant level. It should be at or very near the bottom of the plug hole. 3. If it isn't, add the recommended lubricant through the plug hole using a syringe or squeeze bottle. 4. Install and tighten the plug securely and check for leaks after the first few miles of driving. I know you said it is a manual transmission but my source recommends that after 1988 use Motorcraft MERCON automatic transmission fluid (part no.AT-2-QDX) . Verify this at the place where you buy the lubricant , either an auto parts store or Ford dealer with a service department!!!

How do i replace the transmission fluid & filter on a 2010 Ford fusion SE

Hi,first of all check that the fluid is at the right level, then when cars on axle stands, get a bowl and undo auto sump bolt and drain, replace filter put back sump tighten bolts fully home dont over tighten, then mesure the fluid that came out,and put the same amount back in,then worm up to running temp and check the level as you might need to top up abit,
I also would put a additive in this is a great additive that I myself use read the instructions and make up your own mind(its called XADO)it will give your transmition a new life.
well all the best.

Where do i put the transmition fluid in a 1991 150 pickup?

If it is a manual transmission their is a nut on the bottom of the transmission you may have to get a special pump you can get at the auto parts store that pretty cheap and pump the trans fluid into the trans by taking out the bolt and putting the hose in the hole and pumping the plastic pump to supply the trans with fluid.

1991 ford festiva replaced alternator new

it is part of the alternator actually on a lucas unit, a small black box bolted to the rear of the alternator.

You may have a faulty ignition switch or a corroded engine earth cable causing the alternator not to reach charging voltage.

Wher is the refill point for a Festiva 1996 manual transmission?

If you look at the transmission, you will find a drain plug on the bottom, look for a similar plug on the side of the transmission, take out plug and if oil is at the bottom of side plug hole, trans is full, if not refill here until oil is running out of hole, reinstall plug.
