Question about GMC Acadia

1 Answer

Hello, my factory alarm on my 2008 Acadia, "goes off" randomly when the truyck is locked usually within 30 minutes of exiting the vehicle. Even if I lock the truck from inside. Upon entering the vehicle the "Theft Attempted" message displays. Often my truck also alerts me that my "Hood is open" when it is not. Thank you!

Sounds as if the hood sensor is loose/hood itself has loose bolts- check all mounting points near hinges- try and find the plunger switch for you alarm and see if it is loose or needs to be adjusted.
sound as if after you engine compartment cools off after driving the hood is shifting enough to trip the alarm

My toyota kluger Grande 2009 alarm goes off randomly... Usually after using the rear glass hatch. I close the glass hatch, Remote lock it and within a couple of hours the alarm is going off.

If there are any insects or such the motion detector in your car may be detecting them. Your opening and closing of the hatch may be letting something in??

How can i disable my skoda fabia alarm

First method to disable the alarm by using the remote control. The car will automatically lock if it is not opened in 30 sec.
Once you unlock the vehicle by inserting the key into the driver door you then have to insert the key into the ignition lock and switch the ignition on within 15 seconds after unlocking the door in order to deactivate the anti-theft alarm system. The alarm will be triggered if you do not switch on the ignition within 15 seconds. For more reference check out this video

My 2008 Acadia is overheating. About 6 months ago it overheated but cooling levels were fine. Nothing was repaired and everything started working as expected. Yesterday, it started overheating again. ...

it sounds as though your acadia may not actually be overheating, it sounds more like the tempeture sensor is bad, if its "froze" at a certain reading this could fool your computer, you should be able to replace this part for around 20 or 30 dollars. hope this helps

My battery died after recharging it the alarm buttom needs to be reset. I need to know where the reset buttom is

HI ! I haven' t researched your car for you just yet !

I thought Id quickly mention the common method for reprogramming your alarm & remote, If you still require assistance then just ask me and I will find more about your car :)

Common Methods for resetting/re-learning code

  • Factory Fitted Alarms/ Central Locking / remote comes on ignition key.

Insert ignition key , turn key to accessories / red , press & hold lock/unlock for a few secs.remove key, exit vehicle and try un/lock doors &/or alarm (Some models differ slightly & require engine on or manual use of door locks whilst resetting.

  • Aftermarket /Non-Factory / remote is separately operated
Most use a small back-up battery usually located within the loudspeaker/Alarm unit itself under the bonnet,
Remove this battery for a short period to reset the remote code

The access panel for the backup battery is never in an obvious place. look carefully :)
