It calls for 5W-30 but in those temps, assuming you have a fair amount of miles, use 10W-40 or if you can find it, 5W-50-unless your's is a leaker, use full synthetic too, it is MUCH better for your engine and it can go much longer (over 5000 miles) between changes with no issues.

I missed the jack/jack stand question-NEVER get under a car with just a hydrolic jack, they can and do fail-a jack stand is very inexpensive and being crushed by a car or truck is rarely a fast way to die, and can be very painful in the meantime.

Exactly which pulley is my water pump? (1999 pontiac grand prix 3100 sfi v6)??????????????

The power steering pump is dead center on the top of the motor. If your standing on the passenger side the water pump is the next pulley to the right. The serpentine belt will go over the power steering pulley, under the water pump pulley, and then around the a/c compressor.

(1999 pontiac grand prix 3100 v6) im going to buy a new serpentine belt and i need to know the exact kind that my car needs.

Just go to your parts store and tell them what year, engine size etc and they will have a listing either on a computer or in a book. After you get the belt, keep the old one and the sleeve the new one came in. Use old one as emergency spare and the sleeve for a reference to buy a new one in the future.
